Yup, I remember it basically being three sections. The offices went on for hours, lol.
Anyways ds is pretty much right and it was probably harsh for me to place it next to games like those (I remembered Turok too... wow that reboot was awful). Probably just biased because the first two are some of my favorites and third didn't deliver, I'm just cranky Monolith Soft didn't get to develop it themselves and have resorted to smaller budget projects now... what could have been.
But yeah still give FEAR 3 a shot.
Anyways maybe you guys can help, hope I didn't just waste $20 last night, but I can't seem to get Sikkmod working very well with Quake 4. I load up the mod and ... doesn't seem to be doing anything, but some of the options like "Quake 2 physics" enable and work correctly. Otherwise wow, I can't believe how dated this game looks and runs, just hope I can get it looking like this. Wanted to hit this one up again after revisiting Doom 3.

Great gameplay in the first FEAR, but the repetitive office levels bored me to tears. I never bothered to play the two sequels.Xeogred wrote:Yup, I remember it basically being three sections. The offices went on for hours, lol.

Still on Rainbow Six Lockdown. This series adds what is known as the "Sniper Game", in select missions, Dieter Weber will provide the sniper support for the 4-man team to get to their primary location safely.

I just finished Last Light, and ended up getting the "bad" ending. Played the whole thing on Ranger Hardcore, which led to some really tense moments (including one of the most epic boss fights I've ever had). Not knowing how much ammo you have isn't a huge deal, but not getting much ammo from pickups is very noticable. One of the bosses I came in with a clip of rifle ammo, four shotgun shells, and several grenades and knives. I finished him off with the throwing knives, right before my air filter ran out.

Killzone 1 on PS2.
A bit dated but a good game. Very good looking game for the PS2.

FarCry blood dragon has been eating my time. I finished the intro mission and have just been screwing around unlocking upgrades for my guns. I'm loving the game so far. Makes me think I should pick up Farcry 3 proper, but I hated 2 so I'm not sure.
Edit: I guess I should ask if there is anyone that has played both if they think I'll like Farcry 3 if I like blood dragon. I like that I can go and just do my own thing, get upgrades or screw around. I hated how in Farcry 2 that you had to do story missions along side of the upgrade missions instead of being able to actually feeling more powerful I just ended up feeling either just right or under powered for what was thrown at me in the next mission.

How does it compare to Wolfenstein 3D? I've considered picking up the Catacombs pack but I haven't been fully sold on it yet.Retronomy wrote:I just got the Catacombs pack on gog.com and I've been playing the hell out of catacombs 3D

Started up Doom for the Summer Challenge, as this is a game I've played a few times but never beaten. So weird to go back and play a game that doesn't allow you to aim up! I'm enjoying it though so far. Let's see if I can stick it through.
