I plan on selling my Limited Edition one when I get it. Might turn it on to make sure but after that back in the box as it was.

Why? You're convinced you'll already dislike a console you bought before you have even used it yet?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I plan on selling my Limited Edition one when I get it. Might turn it on to make sure but after that back in the box as it was.

I've seen videos, and I'm not impressed with the software side of things, which will no doubt improve with time. If I can make a profit selling it, why not? I can always buy another one when I see something that interests me.lisalover1 wrote:Why? Got my notice today. It'll be here soon. Hopefully we'll have internet at the house when it gets here. I don't have a TV that has HDMI input, but the TV in the living room does and I can just use that until I get a new TV, and then just put my old TV in my mom's bedroom (that's where it is right now until she can get a TV of her own).

Just in time for the promised "yearly hardware iteration".RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I've seen videos, and I'm not impressed with the software side of things, which will no doubt improve with time.
ROFLMAO .. this thing is such a hysterical scam. Hopefully if nothing else it's a decent XMBC box.

Yes, saw an interview where the CEO said external HDD is supported.Pulsar_t wrote:They had better. Android games are growing in size all the time.isiolia wrote:It has USB port, which they're promising USB storage support through.Pulsar_t wrote:Lots of those souped-up Tegra3 games are over 1GB in size. Which means only a handful can be installed on this thing.. And no SD expansion? Clever indeed.
Also makes it a great home tbeater device.

I don't think it's a scam at all. I do think it was an experiment in if you could A: Build a console on crowdfunding B: Build it in 9 months C: Do that all and succeed.irixith wrote:Just in time for the promised "yearly hardware iteration".RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I've seen videos, and I'm not impressed with the software side of things, which will no doubt improve with time.

But frankly, how hard is it to grasp the yearly hardware? Just like phones do it, it's not really far fetched. Every year pay $60 to upgrade to the newest hardware or keep using the older hardware that will probably still be supported for at least another year.
It's a strange device to be sure and I'm not sure it really has a place in the traditional gaming market, but I really don't see this as a scam.

I do.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:It's a strange device to be sure and I'm not sure it really has a place in the traditional gaming market, but I really don't see this as a scam.

The only difference between this and a more traditional scam is that people should know better. Android already suffers from extreme platform and device fragmentation. This thing doesn't have a chance in hell of being anything other than a novelty, and maybe a decent XBMC box. The form factor certainly makes it attractive for XMBC if it's properly capable. There's hundreds of cheaper Android devices on the market already that can do the same thing and change as frequently.
I just can't take this thing seriously at all.

It's a kickstarter project.irixith wrote:>Deliver late.
It hasn't even been commercially released yet. What betas don't have bugs?>Deliver with a poor software experience.
Turns out the dolts who said this were experiencing HDMI lag through their TVs, not the controllers, not the Ouya. No problem at all or easy fix depending on the TV you have.>Deliver with unforgivable controller lag.
Now you're just making up stuff.>Spend time fixing all of the things.

Then buy an Android device. But you'll miss out on the Ouya exclusives if you do. If that doesn't bother you, great! Well said, o.pwuaioc. One must be patient with new hardware; remember when everyone was writing off the 3DS because of its weak early lineup? Who's laughing now?
