The pork skin was browned and crispy, the pork was tender and juicy...and then he sticks it in the fridge overnight and roasts it for about an hour after church the next day, leaving the loin overcooked and a bit chilly in the middle.

Feels bad, man.

The only product I don't love from Trader Joe's (so far). $2.79 a sixer, and it tasted like rubbing alcohol poured in club soda. Still, it was better than the other options.
$2.79 for a 6pack... that sounds just terrible. But then again I am not a huge fan of Trader Joes to begin with... After living in Seattle, San Diego, Dallas and Houston, I like almost any grocery store besides WalMart Neighborhood Markets better.

Trader Joes is good for cheap wine and chocolate. Sadly the one in Nashville cant sell wine, so I dont go.

Dr.Phil and Dr.Oz should star together in a tv show titled "Quacks".

My Mother in law thinks Dr.Oz can not be wrong, and I ponder that she believes he can provide infinite life. The guy is a salesman, and I can't see why she doesn't see that.

I'll put it this way, from now on when we visit my wife's parents, we'll have to bring a cooler of food. On Easter morning before church my wife asked in a shocked voice, "Are you drinking a beer?". I was. "Well I can't blame you given the choices". The choices of drink were almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk. Breakfast options included a bowl of walnuts or a bowl of almonds. No fruit in the house because it "contains too much sugar".

So beer and walnuts was my Easter breakfast. No eggs (cholesterol), not even any egg substitute, no bread (carbs), no fruit (sugar), nada
What's funny is that I actually met Dr. Oz before he became a celebrity. He was a well-respected cardiac surgeon and performed an operation of one of my cousins who was born with a heart defect.

His show does suck though.

I'm up for it.

It's that kind of nonsense that led me to tell my wife that Christmas will be celebrated in our home, no ifs ands or buts. And let me tell you, last Christmas was the best ever.

I love family, but after marriage, my wife and I are our own family. Our doors are open to family and friends, but I'm not traveling all over the state to be bored and served awful food. If family wants to see us "so bad", visit. We like to celebrate the holidays at my house and make a party out of it. Holidays shouldn't be all about meeting Cousin what's her face that you haven't seen in three years and sitting around twiddling thumbs.

My in-laws still give me the "You can't even visit for Christmas dinner?" business on each visit, and my answer is always "You can come visit us, but the only reason we'll leave our home is to take Ripley on a walk".

My parents started doing a waffle dinner on Christmas and host it for both extended families and friends in the area. Just waffles, bacon, and kielbasa sausage, with a variety of fixings. Sadly the way our holidays fall that is the one party I dont get to do anymore. My wife and I have split it up so we can be at my grandmothers for Christmas eve, and then travel to her grandparents on Christmas morning - five hours away. So the bulk of my Christmas is now spent on I-75 and I-24.

I am planning on traveling to the Blue Ridge Parkway sometime this summer (for a side project), but I might have to make it alittle further east to finally catch lunch with you Luke.

My parents own a house on the side of a mountain around a half hour away from the BRParkway. Hit me up and maybe we could do lunch somewhere near Blowing Rock or Boone. But if you are in Eastern NC, you should definitely check out my crib.

Do people still call houses "cribs"? If not, "Stately Luke Manor" will suffice.

Coffee in hand on RB!

Admittedly, I'm rarely asleep before midnight but the guys in the late night thread make me look like a grandpa.
