Transporting a neo geo MVS
Guys I've found a two slot neo geo MVS in relatively good condition that I'm eyeing to buy. It's 100$ and has metal slug 1 and art of fighting 2 in it. I have tested it and it does work well. I'm buying it from an elderly man who used to own a pizza shop in the town next to me. What's the best way to transport this beast. Laying flat in a truck bed or strapped upright? Btw the truck I'm transporting it in has a standard bed and its a single cab truck.

I would think laying it down in the truck bed and strapped down so it wouldn't slide.johnny turbo wrote:Guys I've found a two slot neo geo MVS in relatively good condition that I'm eyeing to buy. Wrap it in one of those furniture pads to reduce vibration, too.
Also, where can I get one of these? That's an incredibly good deal if the thing works. Want!

How far are you traveling? I wouldn't lay it down flat if it's a short distance. I'm basing this off other fragile electronics (juke boxes), laying them down & having them rattle can damage them. I would say upright, wrapped in blankets, strapped in, brave buddy in the back holding it!

Laying it on its back is fine and is probably the easiest way to do it. Just open it up when you get it and make sure everything is secure. Remove the carts, etc.
Lay it flat, strap it down in the back of the truck and you're good. It's what I did when I moved my MK2 cabinet.

On it's back is fine w/a neo, as others said, use nice padding underneath and to the sides to spread out the force of bumps and whatnot.
As apple said, just be sure the mobo and chassis are secured, etc. Should have no problems.
$100 is a steal, the carts and control panel are $100, so the working cab and motherboard are freebies. Congratz! Post some pics when you get it...
