I want to upgrade my model 2 genesis since its the genesis with the worst sound and video. I want to get a model 1 with the high definition graphics but I have been thinking of getting a sega cd but don't like the fmv games or rpgs. I like sports and arcade fighting games and shmups.
Now I should ask the professionals before I waste my money. I just got my tax money and I've been wanting a genesis cdx for the longest time. How are they? I been looking but there either broken on the cd part or they are 200 plus dollars. So if anyone has one let me know how good and reliable they are. I want one but if they're always breaking then I'll just get the model 1 and think about getting the cd add on later

I think its fine. I'm asking which route to upgrade my genesis. I've been thinking of either getting a model 1 or go and spend 200 for a cdx or maybe a JVC xeye. I know people have those systems on racketboy and I want to know what their experience are on those systems. So how is that terrible.SamuraiMegas wrote:I'm not going to lie, this title for the thread is terrible.

Truthfully? I don't even use my CDX, another thing I know about is some people are having issues with them due to the caps inside exploding. My advice? Get a Model 1 and if you just want maybe a few cool cd games then get one, otherwise just pass.mas wrote:I think its fine. I'm asking which route to upgrade my genesis. I've found my CDX to be incredibly useful if I want to bring it along when I visit my parents, since it's not much larger than an old CD player. But I wouldn't use it as my main Genesis.Kidpanda wrote:Truthfully? I don't even use my CDX, another thing I know about is some people are having issues with them due to the caps inside exploding. Be sure to pick up a 3.5mm to stereo cable. Run it out of the headphone jack to your TV if ur really looking for the best sound.

For what you're asking, try genesis 1 with sega cd 2.
The money saved over cdx or x'eye can help stuff like getting nearer to RGB video quality.
genesis composite is an infamous abomination.

i agree with the claw, go with a model 1 and model 2 sega cd.
if you look on ebay and find a model 2 sega cd and it usually says its not working, it just usually needs pico fuse replaced.

No i know. I will get the model 1 genesis first. Then i have to research on what games i really want for the sega cd. If i only want a couple titles then its not worth it.girlracer wrote:i agree with the claw, go with a model 1 and model 2 sega cd.
