Now who said side-scroller platformers aren't the Saturn's strong suit?
Yeah, I said that. I mean, I guess I would argue that a lot of the games on this list aren't that good, while the ones that are good are mostly more readily available on other systems. As far as I know, Bubble Bobble isn't really a side scroller, and while Princess Crown technically is, it's not really relevant as one, especially for someone who wants something like Sonic or Rocket Knight Adventures.

I know Bubble Bobble isn't but Rainbow Island does scroll up. Out of the consoles out during that generation Saturn was definatly the leader in side-scrollers. Of course if you love side-scrollers the NES, SNES and GENS are better choices.

To me the Saturn had 3 "strong suits" 2D fighters, side-scrollers, and arcade games (this includes Shmups).

thanks to this topic, I picked up clockwork knight 2, johnny bazookatone, and assault suit leynos 2. Of the three, I'd say I'll be playing assault suit leynos the most, with clockwork knight 2 a close second.

I have to agree, to be honest. I really liked the Saturn Shinobi game. TOTAL fun. Yeah, the digitized graphics are maybe a bit cheesy, but who cares? It's totally playable, controls great and... I LIKE how it looks. I also love the emphasis on sword play.

Why isn't Mega Man X4 on the list???? Mega Man X3 and 8 are on it, and X4 is better than both of them. (opps, it is on the list. Just... not in ABC order)
