Thats a total crock, if it's one thing the PS3 does better than the 360 it's in it's media capabilities - the whole thing is much more streamlined and easy to use. For instance, when Microsoft announced that you were able to stream video to the 360, I was really excited - however, this excitement soon dwindled when I discovered that no matter what I did, or what Microsoft support suggested, I couldn't get it to work - despite everything being set up correctly, my 360 would not find the media server to stream from and all Microsoft support had to offer me was a replacement console. The day I bought my PS3 I plugged it in and started screwing around with the settings, I notice an icon named 'Search for media servers' and upon pressing it discovered that the PS3 could already connect to my PC without any tweaking or troubleshooting - from that point on i've been copying movies (MP4, DivX, Xvid) and music wirelessly to the PS3's super-large (and super-cheap) 250gb HDD, while my 360 is still unable to connect to the same Windows Media 10 media server than the PS3 has had zero trouble connecting to since day one.
My PS3's become indespensible as a media center to me - it's filled with every episode of South Park & Family Guy, full seasons of some of my favourite sitcoms like Red Dwarf & the IT Crowd, over 20 different movies and a crap load of anime. When i'm at work the PS3 is at home, running Linux and downloading film & tv shows via Torrents that i'll then be able to watch later on the main PS3 XMB, or it's streaming videos and music stored on the PS3 HDD wirelesley to my PSP when i'm on my lunch break thanks to the awesomeness that is remote-play, it's one of the best blu-ray players on the market and finally, the BBC iPlayer works like a charm through the PS3's internet browser. I really couldn't do without it, if my PS3 ever broke down i'd go back to using my old modified Original Xbox as a media-center, it's capabilities far outstretch that of the 360.
