Also, I think having some decent video games in the teachers lounge would be great, but some people get really competative so you may want something fairly easy to learn. I haven't played either of the games you mentioned....so maybe they fit the bill. Maybe some two/four player beat-em ups or shmups. Something with co-op rather than versus? A Neo MVS se-up would be awesome.

Good luck man, that souds like a good oportunity.
Thanks dude.

I'm not sure why you think I'm in BC...I did live there for a few years but I've been living near Toronto for the past 2 years. And the "legal pot thing"??? Pot isn't legal, except for medicinal purposes. Having a very small amount (less than 1g) in your pocket MIGHT not get you busted, but the cop is fully allowed to charge you with a criminal offense (although not as serious an offense as it is down south).

Ottawa is beautiful, although very cold in the winter. Lots of culture, and not too big. Pretty close to Montreal, too.

I was sort of joking about having cabs in the lounge...I don't want them to think I'm insane...yet. I mentioned those two in particular just because they are newer games that I haven't played but am desperate to try. Arcana Heart 2 is (of course) the sequel to the great Arcana Heart fighting game by the people who make Guilty Gear. Death Smiles is one of the latest Cave games. Not exactly "casual" games, I suppose!

Oh sorry....i though it said BC on location a while ago. Maybe I was thinking of someone else...or maybe you said something in a post or maybe you went to school there..... am I anywhere close?

Well i guess pot isn't legal...but de-criminalized in small quantities, right? I mean there are a ton of "pot bars" that you can bring weed to and smoke....i guess I assumed that if it were illegal these places wouldn't be open. I was there with a pot-head friend last time, and he was going off about it. I spent my time in pubs and watched some crazy build-your-own-canoe race on granville island.
Fun times.

Yeah, I might have mentioned I went to school in Vancouver.

Nut-job pot-heads (no offense to anyone here) would like to tell you that it is de-criminalized...but this isn't true. I don't know all the ins and outs of this, but there was a bill put to the government about decriminalizing it, but it never passed, especially after the Conservatives took power. ANY amount is illegal. It is the law. Now, there was a case in court a while back where the judge decreed that the pot law is unconstitutional, but the law has not changed.

Police are less likely to charge you for a small amount. All those places that appear to allow smoking pot run the risk of police involvement at any moment. I suppose the police are out looking for more serious crimes of rape and murder.

So, a good tip for any of you planning a massive pot trip in Vancouver...don't do it, in case the police decide to enforce the law, make an example out of you in court, and kick your Yankee butts back to the States. :D

I get my cabs from Starburstcoin in Canada. Little dirty, but cheap.

70 Ronson Drive Toronto
Ontario, Canada, M9W 1B6
Toll Free: 1-888-977-4263

Ask for Chris Kristevski.

Hey, thanks, that's good for future reference! Is it a place that I can just show up and have a look around? Or more like just an over-the-phone ordering type of thing?

It's a call-over-the-phone type of place. Since you're closer than I, you maybe able to look over the warehouse after to contact them. If you do, take pics for me! I'm told they got 40,000 sq/f of cabs and games.

That's pretty big! I'll be busy for a while settling down and trying not to get fired because I'm playing too many games, but I'll definitely try to check it out. Thanks again!

Impressive, congratulations.

I want a change in career, too.

Ah--small world. My wife and I just moved to the Toronto area (for a University position, no less). So far we're enjoying it.

Cool. Lots to do in T.O., but not much natural beauty. I miss the mountains!

Love your avatar (and name)...it's one of my favourite games on the Genesis.
