Typing of the Dead - is a dream come true for me. It was always the #1 game on my "why isn't it on a system I own?!?!?!?!" list. I love HotD. I can type really fast. It's weird. I'm thrilled.
Typing of the Dead is a very good game, there is a PC version as well. I crap out on it, hunt and peck fingers.

You can get an adaptor to use a regular PC keyboard and Mouse. The advantage is a bigger selection of keyboards and using a trakball or a sensor mouse instead of the Sega ball mouse.

Other unusual controller games
Samba De Amigo with Maraca Controllers. The Fishing Controller works well for fishing games, literally cast the "motion control" line. Your earlier mention of Seaman, Leonard Nimoy narrates, use a mic to teach the creepy "Sim" fish. All kinds of Lightgun games, any of the Lightguns work fine, even the official one. Strange that I got the official Sega Lightgun to work with House of the Dead on my VGA CRT monitor.

Tons of emulators. Arcades for WowMame and Neo Geo, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, and Atari 2600.

Not sure if you read my reviews I posted earlier, two very good games:

Wild Metal (Country) Dreamcast and PC exclusive (Freeware Download).

Toy Commander Dreamcast only release.

Another game is Alien Front Online exclusive to the Dreamcast. No online, but great single player modes. Love strafing with a tank!

A great game, it screams to be Twin Stick controlled. Just like Dreamcast Virtua on, a weird controller layout. I really wanted both of these games to work with my PSX Blaze Dual Shock. No way will I buy the DC Virtua On Twinsticks just for one game. Why is it the best Virtua On has the worse controls!

This brings up another point, a PS1 controller adaptor. Allows a wide range of PS1/PS2 controllers and Arcade sticks to work on the Dreamcast.

Bangai-O is much better on the XBLA. Only $10 too. :D

If you haven't already, add Maken X to your list of games to check out. It's another one of those gems that makes the Dreamcast the weird little box it is.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Speaking of Bangai-O... as someone who's tried almost everything for that game (short of using DC twinsticks... though I have used the Saturn twinsticks) if you have a PS1 analog controller and an adapter, turn the analog off and use the two analog sticks. The R-analog perfectly maps to XYAB.

The default controls (N64 style) do NOT work on the DC version of Bangai-O (the N64 claw was better), the manual even admits to use the alternate control scheme (console Smash TV-style).

I also heartily recommend Zombie Revenge, and Dynamite Cop as well, for over-the-top beat-em-up fury! (Don't forget the homebrew browser, Tech Romancer for its bevy of VMU games, and possibly the best version of Grandia 2 out there.)

Does the DC version support dual-screen (with the DC link cable), or just split-screen? (The PC version requires an old-school IPX crossover-cable connection because it can't support split-screen.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Typing of the Dead is just like HotD 2 player. Both on the same screen. No split.

Also, VGA is your bestest friend ever when it comes to Dreamcast video quality. It looks leaps and bounds better than a composite connection. You'll barley see any pixels at all.
