What? Two MAJOR Mario games came out after. One Metroid did, as well, although it took longer.

Favourite: I don't know. Saturn, PC Engine, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, PS3, NES... ummmm.... all of them?

Least Favourite: I guess I don't play Microsoft consoles much...

As for Sony, again, no hate, I just generally don't care for any of the systems. 99 times out of 100, if a game is available on multiple systems, Playstation is the last place I look.
Nah, I hear you, but what about the absolutely massive list of great PS1 and PS2 exclusives? I would find them pretty hard to ignore, unless you just generally turn a blind eye to the Sony side of things in general.

Most Favorite: My Ps2. Simply because of all the memories I had with it. In middle school/high school I was a big japantard and played tons of DDR with that thing. It did bring me and my cousins together, who were bigger japantards. It was also my first very own system, and not something I shared with my brother. But the library is pretty extensive and given it's time the graphics were amazing.

Second place is Game Cube for Baten Kaitos alone, That game made me want to design characters.

My least favorite was the Sega Master System. I... can't remember enjoying any game on there besides a shootemup that involved warping. Maybe it's because I didn't own a sonic game... maybe I'll throw some roms up and give it a second chance now that i'm not 7.

Super Mario Galaxy 1&2. I never really cared for those Mario games.

Well if it was favorite platform and not console, I would say PC.

Console favorite would be ps1 or ps2. I love the rpg library of the ps1. Ps2 has some great games as well and is bc with ps1 soooo...

Runners up are snes and genesis/cd, golden age of gaming. Some of my favorite games or series began or had a strong showing then. Shining force, final fantasy, ogre battle, phantasy star...

Current gen is my 360, it gets fairly heavy play. A pretty diverse library despite what others may say.

Least favorites - I would say nintedo consoles since the n64, with each one getting a bit worse. N64 had a few classics but was rpg lite. I had some great multiplayer experiences on the console when I was a kid. However I had it for awhile before I got a ps1 and I regretted having it as my consol instead of the ps1...
GC had a few decent titles. Smash bros was awesome and fire emblem was fun. Not too many games interested me there; I've never been much of a mario or platformer fan. And the 3rd party support was horrible. The wii is the GC all over again for me but with annoying motion controls. I've basically played fire emblem and smash again on this console plus some vc titles.

Another console I have completely failed to enjoy is the dreamcast. I was always a sega guy too. I loved the genesis and saturn. Though, the screwups sega had with the end of the saturn and rushing out the dc (particularly blowing off shining force 3) soured me on them. Plus they didn't have a lot of games I was interested in. I could only afford 1 system at the time and I was all about the ps2 then. I didn't want to make another regretful decision again. I am grateful for that decision as my ps2 got some heavy usage in college.

Favorite: I have to say the Wii. It kills me that a lot of people won't look beyond waggle controls and see the true potential the system has. To me, the Virtual Console is by far the best way to play retro games. They look great with component cables, the Classic Controller is the wireless SNES controller I always wanted with the best D-Pad ever, and the freeze state feature makes games you have to beat in one sitting much more accessable. Furthermore, being able to play a lot of the few great N64 games with a Wavebird is a dream come true. I can also play GC games with component cables without paying close to $100. And to anyone who says the motion controls are disappointing, play Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Least Favorite: Nintendo DS. I've tried getting into this but nothing can hold my interest long enough to keep me away from my PSP. I had one since launch and more often than not I found myself playing GBA games on it due to my lack of an SP. Maybe someday it will grow on me but so far nothing elicits such disinterest from me as the DS does.

Muramasa, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Fatal Frame 4, Monster Hunter, Boy and his Blob, Max and the Magic Marker, all those Sega arcade light-gun ports, Okami, Xenoblade et al. Any of these tickling your gaming bells? Shall I continue?

Have you ever heard of New Super Mario Bros.? Mario Galaxy came out BEFORE Super Smash Bros. X.

I don't get it. You complained that no big franchise titles were coming out, but that was false. You listed some names, but now say that you don't like those big franchise titles anyway?

I understand that if you don't like Nintendo titles, then the Wii might not be your thing, but I'm a bit baffled that this reasoning. Did you realize that there is a high number of quality 3rd party titles on the Wii? Awesome puzzle games, 2D fighters, shoot 'em ups, platformers, RPGs, etc. Many work with the classic controller. I suspect that you didn't fully investigate the Wii. It's a lot better than you think it is. Either that, or you just haven't played many consoles.

Then, you said the freaking Gamecube was your favourite console. The Wii is a Gamecube! It's like saying that you love the PS1, but hate the PS2. All of the GCN games play in the Wii, as do all controllers and accessories.

I can understand saying a system like the VB, Jaguar, 5200, or even SMS is a least favourite, but saying the Wii just baffles me. Go play some Club Drive on the Jaguar, and report back.

Haha, apparently I agree with this. It is not my favourite system, but I do like it a lot. The VC, while not perfect, is still fantastic. It is awesome that all those games are now legally available to play on a current system. That alone makes it not the worst system. :) Of course, if you haven't played many systems, than you are excused.

I partially agree with this. I do enjoy the DC, but I still find that it is overrated in the retro community. There are some great Sega games on it, great shooters and great fighters. However, other systems have so much more to offer. The DC is overshadowed by them, in my opinion. It's tragic, due to its short life, but true.

My brother-in-law used to swear by the DC because of one game; Twinkle Star Sprites. When I showed him my Neo Geo and Saturn copies of the game and let him try it using the Sat/NG control pads (not the NG stick), he was pretty shocked. :D

Not to menton we have a zelda out this year, we've had one kirby game with a new one on the way, a donkey kong game, mario kart, wario land, animal crossing, several mario sports titles and punch-out in that timeframe. And I ignored the really niche but awesome nintendo series like Sin and Punishment.

Yeah, that's what's baffling me about this thread. There are so many bad consoles out there, why anyone would pick XBOX or Wii or N64 is far beyond me. Who enjoyed the CD-i or 3DO that much?

My favorite is the SNES. For least favorites, take your pick out of the many terrible consoles out there.
