Super Mario Galaxy 1&2. I never really cared for those Mario games.
Have you ever heard of New Super Mario Bros.? Mario Galaxy came out BEFORE Super Smash Bros. X.
I don't get it. You complained that no big franchise titles were coming out, but that was false. You listed some names, but now say that you don't like those big franchise titles anyway?
I understand that if you don't like Nintendo titles, then the Wii might not be your thing, but I'm a bit baffled that this reasoning. Did you realize that there is a high number of quality 3rd party titles on the Wii? Awesome puzzle games, 2D fighters, shoot 'em ups, platformers, RPGs, etc. Many work with the classic controller. I suspect that you didn't fully investigate the Wii. It's a lot better than you think it is. Either that, or you just haven't played many consoles.
Then, you said the freaking Gamecube was your favourite console. The Wii is a Gamecube! It's like saying that you love the PS1, but hate the PS2. All of the GCN games play in the Wii, as do all controllers and accessories.
I can understand saying a system like the VB, Jaguar, 5200, or even SMS is a least favourite, but saying the Wii just baffles me. Go play some Club Drive on the Jaguar, and report back.
I have to say the Wii. It kills me that a lot of people won't look beyond waggle controls and see the true potential the system has
Haha, apparently I agree with this. It is not my favourite system, but I do like it a lot. The VC, while not perfect, is still fantastic. It is awesome that all those games are now legally available to play on a current system. That alone makes it not the worst system.

Of course, if you haven't played many systems, than you are excused.
Another console I have completely failed to enjoy is the dreamcast. I was always a sega guy too. I loved the genesis and saturn. Though, the screwups sega had with the end of the saturn and rushing out the dc (particularly blowing off shining force 3) soured me on them. Plus they didn't have a lot of games I was interested in. I could only afford 1 system at the time and I was all about the ps2 then. I didn't want to make another regretful decision again. I am grateful for that decision as my ps2 got some heavy usage in college.
I partially agree with this. I do enjoy the DC, but I still find that it is overrated in the retro community. There are some great Sega games on it, great shooters and great fighters. However, other systems have so much more to offer. The DC is overshadowed by them, in my opinion. It's tragic, due to its short life, but true.
My brother-in-law used to swear by the DC because of one game; Twinkle Star Sprites. When I showed him my Neo Geo and Saturn copies of the game and let him try it using the Sat/NG control pads (not the NG stick), he was pretty shocked.
