What cheese? The Mario and Yoshi figurines?
I didn't see any issues with Twin Snakes myself, I liked the remake. And frankly every Metal Gear has it's share of cheese.
One thing you're going to have to get used to here on Racketboy is that except for myself and 2 or 3 other people, everyone here hates The Twin Snakes. If you search the forums, I'm sure you could find at least 3 threads in which we argue over TTS.

I've played and beaten both MGS and TTS and other than graphically and sound recording what's different? If anything TTS should have an edge over MGS because of the updated graphics.

EDIT: I'd be curious to hear from someone that liked MGS, but not TTS...I mean if you hate the game that's fine, but I can't imagine liking one and not the other.

The added MGS2 moves make most of the boss fights pathetically easy (ESPECIALLY the first one with Ocelot.)

The cutscenes were excessive and over the top, even by the standards of the franchise.

The voice acting performances (and minor script changes) are arguably inferior to the original.

That's the gist of what people dislike about TTS.

Even though I love TTS I have to agree with this. The first time I beat the game my arm and hand were in a cast and I still had no problem.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. I just read the Joystiq article Noise quoted (which can be found here). It has a picture of the trophy icons for MGS2 and 3, and I suddenly realized: MGS2, which is a 10-year-old PS2 game, will have trophies while MGS4, developed for the PS3, still won't. That's messed up.

Hmm that's interesting. I have terrible memory, I liked em both and was just excited to have (what I thought was) a port with updated graphics.

She just wants your stuff out of the living room. It's a win-win situation...
