Settles down. The point is your comment of "They take responsibility for their actions, and are willing to take the repercussions." is a bit odd considering the countries history and lack of ability to take responsibility for their action, and accept the repercussions.

No one has been racist in this thread up until your comment.

Horseman, please do not take offense in what I and others are saying here. Please read it and understand it. None of us are sending personal attacks your way. Many of us here are in our 20s and 30s and older and have actually lived in Japan or have Japanese family.

It's not that you were trying to sound nice. You were putting an entire group of people on a pedestal that has not been earned. It DOES exist in current pop-culture myth, and a few of us here have simply let you know the inaccuracies of "the Japan myth." That is all.

There is racism where an entire group based on race is put down, but it also exists on the other end of the spectrum; where an entire race/group is put up based on a mythos created around that race/group. That seems to happen with Japan a lot. In the past couple hundred years, America was that country.

Don't get my wrong, I like Japan a lot. In fact, I love Japan. I lived there for years. I married a Japanese woman. My daughter is half Japanese. It is probably my favourite country overall for a few reasons. That is because the positives outweigh the negatives for me, but, to be honest, there are some VERY big negatives there. I am glad you seem to like Japan. Just don't buy all the propaganda about how "polite and respectful" everything there is. :)

Here is some homework for you: type in "tatemae" into google and read about it. You might have some interesting reads.

ZenLogikos wrote:I love seeing praise for Lemieux, as I consider him the most talented hockey player in history, but your comparison is not quite accurate, as Lemieux owned the team when he came out of retirement.
Being the team owner does not mean he took the team's earnings home to his bank account. Yes, maybe he would've looked bad if he paid himself what he was worth, but on the other hand... NOBODY would have argued about his salary if it was $12million/year or whatever then. He was worth more than that in relation to other player's salaries in the early 2000s (2001/02 or whatever year it was, I don't remember exactly).

Letting younger players room and board with him is also a cool move. I know Sidney boarded with him for quite a while (another player who is just amazing on and off the ice, from what I have heard).

I actually have this, 100% complete. :) The great Mike Allison even signed it on the Kings page. :D

I figure now is a good time to note that Nintendo also just posted the largest fiscal loss for any quarter they have ever reported. So those guys taking paycuts? It's that or possibly lose their jobs if things continue.

Nah~ They couldn't lose their jobs... well maybe. But NCL has fvck tons of cash reserves especially after the Wii/DS generation. Not as much as Apple but they're not hurting... yet (hope not, me likely Nintendo games).

The reserves might not be so large - they did post this loss at the same time that they are developing a brand new home console. Hardware development eats up a LOT of capital.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Lay off the guy. He's not trying to be racist. He's just praising Nintendo for making a good move. And you guys want to rip him a new one because of some semantics.

Why does it even matter where the stylus is placed. I had the original DS, and the stylus placement was not a pain at all, because it doesn't effect gameplay. I don't et why people not only complain about such a minor inconvenience, but how some bash the system because of it. Where the stylus is stored in the DS while it is off doesn't make a difference when you are playing it. /rant

I'd say that the placement of the stylus being their only complaint sounds like a good review.
