I vaguely had the same thought while playing it. I don't want to say that it's bad, per se, but the look and design both feel like a third-party non-Rayman 3D platform game made sometime between the N64 and the Dreamcast. It's like it's half-way between Super Mario Galaxy and the old "Hocus Pocus" game for MS-DOS. I can't recommend it very highly, but it doesn't make me turn it off in disgust. I wouldn't pay much for it.dogman91 wrote:Ah, there's one I never heard of. So what did you think of it? Hesitant on trying it out based on the reviews I'm looking at... that and looking at the cover makes me think "sub-par Mario Galaxy ripoff".
I've only played the first two, but they're more like an almost-open-world platformer with shooting elements. It's like Banjo Kazooie or Jak & Daxter--if Banjo could buy ridiculous guns with all the crap you've been collecting or if Jak didn't turn into an angst-ridden teenage Wolverine wannabe, and without all of the wondering where the hell you're supposed to go next. Just started playing recently, and liking them much better than Banjo or Jak, by far. If you could also run insanely fast, it would make a good formula for a 3D Jazz Jackrabbit game. Oh, that reminds me of another canceled game I want...Haven't tried any of the Ratchet and Clank series yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. I get the impression they're more of an open-world 3rd person shooter with platforming elements.
