Cancelled games that you wish were released

Post by insanecow0 »

I wish that Gun Loco and True Crime: Hong Kong were released. Both seemed like promising games.

Conker's Other Bad Day, Banjo-Threeie, etc. Somehow Viva Pinata had a game AND a sequel over those two. More specifically I wish Microsoft didn't fire/make everyone quit at Rare and turn them into casual company.

On that point, this generation is sorely lacking 3D platformers... so far I only see Mario Galaxy and Mushroom Men.

King's Field IV (Or King's Field V in Japan). I read about it being in development for PS2 AND XBox in magazines, but that one little blurb was the last I heard about it, sadly. I so love the other King's Field games, I SOOOOO wish this would have happened.

I'm sure people are gonna point out Demon's Soul to me. It's not the same, not at all. It's similar in a few ways, but comparisons are drawn between the two far too often.

True Fantasy Live Online, for the Xbox.

I was so excited for this game, I bought an American Xbox months ahead of time in preparation, only to have the game canceled after that. I rented and played through Panzer Dragoon Orta, but for the most part that Xbox was a big waste of money for me.

Wait... what??? I'm a huge King's Field and From Software fan, and I have never heard of this. Where did you hear about this, specifically?

I fully agree, but it scratches my King's Field itch quite well. It's similar in quite a few ways, actually.

There's Shadow Tower Abyss for PS2 also, which is excellent.

I would say Thrill Kill, It was one of the games that I always wanted to play, sure I can download the ISO and burn it, but I want a legitimate retail copy of the game, so I don't have to disk swap or modify my PSX just to play that game.

I also want the real Duke Nukem Forever.

I read it some magazine quite a few years ago now. I don't remember which at this point. It wasn't much more than blurb in the news section where they post all the small bits of news together.

I do have the original Shadow Tower for PS1, which I found brutally difficult and haven't gone back to it in quite a while. I think I remember looking up the sequel for PS2, but wasn't it only released in Japan or Europe or something? I thought I didn't worry about it since it wasn't released in the U.S.

Psycho Pinball for Amiga CD-32; the MegaDrive version is ok but missing a lot of the sounds from the DOS version, Commodore went bankrupt just before Codemasters made the CD32 version of that game released - other CD32 games are direct ports of the DOS versions (eg Fury of the Furries, D-Generation, etc), so it would have been likely the CD32 version would have been a DOS port too. (one of my favourite games BTW)!

Neo Turf Masters 2 on the NeoGeo; I love the first one, the second was going to be released, however SNK went under.

Forty Winks on N64, it came out on the PlayStation but was due for N64 release too, but didn't happen. Not played that game, but i'm sure it will be good.
