I vaguely had the same thought while playing it. I don't want to say that it's bad, per se, but the look and design both feel like a third-party non-Rayman 3D platform game made sometime between the N64 and the Dreamcast. It's like it's half-way between Super Mario Galaxy and the old "Hocus Pocus" game for MS-DOS. I can't recommend it very highly, but it doesn't make me turn it off in disgust. I wouldn't pay much for it.
Haven't tried any of the Ratchet and Clank series yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. I get the impression they're more of an open-world 3rd person shooter with platforming elements.
I've only played the first two, but they're more like an almost-open-world platformer with shooting elements. It's like Banjo Kazooie or Jak & Daxter--if Banjo could buy ridiculous guns with all the crap you've been collecting or if Jak didn't turn into an angst-ridden teenage Wolverine wannabe, and without all of the wondering where the hell you're supposed to go next. Just started playing recently, and liking them much better than Banjo or Jak, by far. If you could also run insanely fast, it would make a good formula for a 3D Jazz Jackrabbit game. Oh, that reminds me of another canceled game I want...

Dude, did you play the beta? It's absolutely terrible. Complete disgrace to the awesome series.

Well, CFAS didn't have ANY Darkstalkers characters in it. Still, it's sad it ended up becoming... THAT.

really? I didn't realize that. Weird.

I don't hate Evolution. But I don't love it. I kind of ... find it interesting? It's a pretty weird trainwreck that I can't help but look at y'know? But yeah. SHOULD have been a lot better.

It's not worth it, sure, it's disturbing as hell and it's pretty violent but other than that it's a terrible fighting game.
Well yeah, I imagine its not really a good game, I mean, I played the Wu-Tang game (which is pretty much the same game) and that game was terrible. I am allot more fascinated with the games history, and I remember that was hyped to all hell (no pun intended), but in all honesty whether the game is bad or not, I was still hyped up for it, I was ready to play, then the game cancelled, I remembered when OPM joked about having the full uncut game hidden in one of the demo disk (its the one with R4 on the cover), and being a real fool that I am...I fell for it, I looked high and low, checking possible codes that are hidden, then I realized that I was just wasting my time...its not in it.

I'll admit it, I did try the game via emulation and I will agree its not that good of a game, but damn it at least it fulfill my need to play the game that I waited over 10 years for.

Thrill Kill is terrible. I actually wrote about it for GameSpite's PS1 retrospective book recently so had the (dis)pleasure of playing it again and having it fresh in my head. It's... just not a good game. It just plays terribly. I honestly don't believe it was the content that killed the game... it was just a poor product. Though I guess it still could have made some money. Who knows.

It would of, since there where shit ton of advertisements in magazines, and the people LOOOOOOOOOVE controversy (including me), just ask Mortal Kombat. I guess OPM was right when they said its the most overrated cancelled game.
