It just seems really weird to me, like I thought this controller was the whole point of the Wii U... so will we still be using Wiimotes and such for multiplayer gaming? That or I guess as I've seen so comments say there, maybe they have plans to release a traditional controller to go along with the system for other players.
I don't know, but it really does sound like a weird perplexing move to me.

Or maybe we're bringing back the LAN party. You bring your Wii U and your Pad to your buddy's house and network the two consoles together, using your Pad as your screen.Xeogred wrote:Wii U currently only supports one WiiiPad.
Uh, wtf?
Never mentioned during the conference supposedly, hilarious. So what, we'll still be using Wiimotes or classic controllers for all the multiplayer gaming?...

Or the figured that since 70% of the other "hardcore" games are one player per box online that they should do the same and push for a more integral online service.MrPopo wrote:Or maybe we're bringing back the LAN party. I hope we'll have that option for LAN parties now.MrPopo wrote:Or maybe we're bringing back the LAN party. You bring your Wii U and your Pad to your buddy's house and network the two consoles together, using your Pad as your screen.Xeogred wrote:Wii U currently only supports one WiiiPad.

I'd like to see a game that mixes RTS and FPS elements. You could have players competing in a (hopefully large) level with one person on each team spawning in different buildings, vehicles and even some weapons. You could call in an airstrike and your team mate would manually direct it on his map.

My excitement had dwindled now that I learned that even though the Wii U is BC, it will not play GameCube games AND it will NOT upscale Wii games. Without upscaling or texture filtering I will finish my Wii backlog using my Wii and purchase a cheaper HD console.

It won't upscale Wii games to 1080p? That sucks!SpaceBooger wrote:My excitement had dwindled now that I learned that even though the Wii U is BC, it will not play GameCube games AND it will NOT upscale Wii games. Shouldn't be surprising, the Wii didn't upscale or otherwise alter Gamecube games did it?Inazuma wrote:It won't upscale Wii games to 1080p? The GC outputted 480p if you had the component cables, and the Wii does as well. There was no upscaling possible.Stark wrote:Shouldn't be surprising, the Wii didn't upscale or otherwise alter Gamecube games did it?Inazuma wrote:It won't upscale Wii games to 1080p? That's why I said otherwise altered. It didn't use the enhanced ability of the Wii to help the anti-aliasing or anything like that.MrPopo wrote: The GC outputted 480p if you had the component cables, and the Wii does as well. There was no upscaling possible.
