Poor people get hand outs left and right.

Maybe where you are from, but not everywhere.

sell a few and make your money back.

:?: You seem to make a lot of assumptions.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, they have left Hong Kong intact. Mainland China has been enjoying capitalism quite a lot, even though it is fake and they use what basically amounts to slave labor to make it work.

This is what troubles me. What is preventing them from them from understanding the concept of copyrights? Why does China copy Japan constantly? Despite such a rich history and incredible culture and beauty, It's like China is a black hole when it comes to originality. To think that they'd use an old Japanese song for the theme to the Shanghai Expo is just crazy. Do they think nobody would notice? I find it hard to believe that China is incapable of coming up with its own unique stuff for everyone to love and share with the world.

Anyhow, back to the topic, I'm curious who was responsible for the Sapphire bootlegs. I wonder if it was a Japanese effort rather than a Chinese effort. In any case, I found a website that goes into detail about the bootlegs. I've never seen this website before, so it's worth a look. Again, since Sapphire was a limited release game and Hudson won't make any further money from it (at least not the PC Engine version), if whoever is responsible for the bootlegs would've just said from the beginning, "Hey, these are not the originals, but here you go, please buy one for about $20," I don't find that offensive really at all and I'd buy one. But when they pass them off as originals and trick people into paying $600 or whatever for them, that's just wrong.

I think all of the donation copies at PCEFX are all gone but it's been great to see the price of the bootleg collapse on ebay after they got sent out. It want to a lot of cool people who just want to play the damn game aka "players edition". This is not rare and it's worthless and even if you do have a PC Engine I recommend only buying originals cause they are that much cooler.
Hopefully the number of copies that went out covered most of the current people with a PCE and an arcade card to actually use it. I personally have one in my collection and one in the car to play some killer music. One of the best soundtracks EVER

I picked up the Ginga Ojousama Densetsu collection for the PSP a few days ago that includes both Yuna games and Sapphire for about 1,480 yen. Great price!

Great!

Did you get the other copies of Sapphire I sent you yet? Thanks for your help, btw. Yeah, that's a plug for you. You're a good guy.

I've been in Japan for the past few weeks, remember? I fly back tomorrow, though. I'm sure they'll be waiting for me when I arrive. I think I'll be playing Galaxy Fraulein Yuna on the long flight back. Singapore Airlines has electric plugs built into the arm rests, even. That's the first time I've seen those in an airplane! I also picked up the Gunbuster series on UMD Video to watch too.

Yeah, I forgot the dates. That's awesome that they have elec. plugs in the arm rests! I've seen that before somewhere. Maybe Cathay Pacific or JAL or Korean Air some something.

I am glad to see that you handed a few out Breetai. These games are to be enjoyed.

I am kinda sorta indirectly responsible for the generous handouts by the One, the Saintly, BlueBMW at PCFX. Last year I got wind of a guy in Europe who runs the Anime4ever site that he had these bootlegged copies of Sapphire (complete with label, back insert, and case) up for grabs at $45 shipped. I posted on the forums about it and good 'ol BlueBMW wanted his contact info. Blue in turn bought his WHOLE STASH! This stash mainly consisted of loose copies. I am not sure what Blue paid and I wouldn't tell anyway.

I guess my point being is if anyone has more than a few copies please share them! We see enough hoarding as it is in this passion of ours. Thanks.
