I have a feeling I will end up needing the space anyways and 500GB should suffice. 160GB is just what he happens to have and being that I was going to throw some money at him for doing this for me, although he's insisting that it's not necessary, I don't feel right about it and might as well go for the 500GB. It's weird because we're just really work friends and don't really get together outside of work too often. I did go to his bachelor party, wedding, and help him move into his house and then out of the house during the divorce (long story). Yeah, it is very nice of him to do this. Maybe he just wants to repay me? I don't know, not necessary but I don't want to pass this up and I'm going to do something for him regardless if he won't take cash. I do know I just went completely off subject here!Sorry.
Thanks for the support and info on this stuff guys! I'm pretty stoked about this now and I'll let you know once I get my Xbox back fully loaded! I feel like it's going to come back all Terminator bad ass like or more like I'm supping up a car into a hot rod or something like that!!![]()
Don't forget that if you want to do the hard drive upgrade you need to make sure you use an IDE hard drive and NOT a SATA drive. The Original Xbox is only compatible with IDE HDD.
Try the SATA to IDE adapter. the guy who sold me mine has a 2TB SATA drive in his. Mine has a 750gb SATA in it. I got an IDE TO SATA adapter off amazon. It works great.
