The Metroid Prime games alone are worth the $30 purchase for a Gamecube. Those games are amazing, and are better than a lot of next-gen games even. The first-time you see the Pheandra Drifts area is breath-taking.
And Super Mario Sunshine is a helluva 3D platformer. Truthfully, I usually don't like too many 3D platformers. I think like the only other ones I've really enjoyed were the Pac-Man World games and the first 2 Crash Bandicoots. Otherwise I'm a 2D platformer type of guy. Yet I got addicted to Super Mario Sunshine.
If you're a big Resident Evil fan, than that's another reason to own a Gamecube. Resident Evil: Zero is exclusive to Gamecube. There is also the remake of the original Resident Evil, which really is a big improvement over the original. And you've got Resident Evil 4 plus ports of Resident Evil 2 & 3, as well as a port of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. Eternal Darkness is very unique horror game that is exclusive to Gamecube as well.
And of course you have The Legend of Zelda games. WindWaker and Twilight Princess. I don't think I have to say much about Zelda. One of the greatest game series of all-time.
And there are some great JRPGs on Gamecube, or so I've heard. I personally don't play JRPGS.
Add to that: Most Gamecube versions of multiplatform games look better on Gamecube than they do PS2.
