But first, I should note that the Power Stone 2 disc surprisingly worked a couple minutes ago, and worked again when I tried it a second time. No boot disc or anything. It's strange, because I tried it several times before with no luck, but now it works perfectly. But it's definitely not an official disc; I'm comparing it to a Sonic Adventure 2 disc, and, unlike SA2, the disc doesn't have the Official Sega Liscencing band on the shiny side, and actually, upon very close inspection, has the word CD-R written on the inside. Also, the front cover of the disc seems quite dull compared to my other Dreamcast discs. It has the art, but things seem pretty saturated.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 still doesn't work though, despite my best efforts. The only difference between the PS2 and MvC2 discs is that MvC2 explicitly states "REVIEW DEMO ONLY - NOT FOR RESALE" across the front, unlike the PS2 disc. When I go to the Music option of "Play, Music, File, Option" screen (someone please give me an easier name for it), I can see that the disc at least has files on it.
Regardless, I'm all but certain these are counterfeits at this point. I'm really surprised that PS2 works though, being that it appears to be on a regular CD-R and I wasn't using a boot disc, especially considering that it didn't work before. Peculiar.
I know why that is, what he did was burn them at high speeds. That happened to me, they will only boot once in a while. Once you boot them they usually work perfect, but the initial boot doesnt work real good when the disc is burnt at high speeds.
Dreamcast games should be burnt at 8x or lower, ive done 10x and the game wont boot all the time. sometimes they come out perfect and sometimes they require a few tries to get the game to boot. Ive burnt them at 20x and they didnt work at all.
So that will answer your question why it isnt working well, he is burning them (the seller on amazon) at high speeds and he a rookie bootleger making the mistake of burning games to fast, lol !! this means that many other people will get faulty games, lol!
