The actual question that Cuse and Lindelof were asked regarding the finale was whether it would be heartwarming or heartwrenching. They said neither. They were going for heart-stopping.
That is what has kept my hopes up too.

The deaths of major characters is what got me into the show in the beginning. I am glad they are starting that back up. Next week I bet they will just pussyfoot around again leaving us with too much to answer in two hours.

holy shit. i just read the finale, which is on a sunday the 23rd for some reason, is going to be a five-and-a-half hour LOST extravaganza - 7 to 11:30. 7-9 is a retrospective and 10-11:30 is the finale.
