Well now you went and turned it into a debate!
I'm not going to indulge you, but as someone who grew up as the son of a minister and spent more time in church in the first 20 years of his life than most people do in a lifetime I know Christianity inside and out. I'm a Christian by any theological definition, but have chosen to reject that lifestyle and way of thinking for some VERY good reasons. Suffice to say, I didn't arrive at my current position lightly, and if there was a place for religious debate here I'd be happy to explain why I think you're wrong and I'm right
(By the way whatever happened to the forum redesign mumblings? I was looking forward to a possible debate forum!)
Yes, of course - but if we're looking out for him as we should certainly recommend some potential coping strategies or, as the case might be, try to steer him away from those that we believe might make his situation even more painful...[/quote]Ack wrote:Plus, shouldn't we be offering Fox our sympathies anyway?
We've never "arrived." For knowing Christianity "inside and out" you've certainly forgotten one key facet of the Christian life....humility. Also, I never said anything about attending church. You can spend your life rotting away in church pew without learning a thing.
I wish nothing but the best for you, fox. It wasn't my intention to assume the role of preacher. I'm a human being just like all of you, and don't pretend to be something else. I drink black coffee, fart and enjoy Call of Duty just as much as the next gamer.
