Unique retro game compilations
So I was thinking that stuff like Namco Museum or Mega Man and Genesis collections have been re-released on so many platforms. But what are some really unique retro compilations that feature a lot of games not commonly re-released elsewhere?
Also, what are some compilations that feature very unique "extras"?
For instance, I thought the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection was really neat because it contained so many early SNK games instead of the usual Neo Geo games that have been collected so many times. And the love that went into that compilation is insane with all the old flyers and various scans plus inclusion of soundtracks.
I think that 3DS compilation of 3D Sega games might be another example, as they are unique versions of the games.

Re: Unique retro game compilations
The Sega 3D Classics colllection definitely belongs on this list. It’s great. It even has 3D Sega Master System games!
Here are some that came to mind for me:
The various Konami collections for the 360, DS, GBA, and PS1. Each of these have different games.
The various SNK collections for the PS2. There are anthologies collecting the Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, Metal Slug, and World Heroes series in their, at the time, entireties.
The Data East Collection for the Wii is really unique. Data Eadt was an arcade powerhouse, and I wish it had included more games.
The Sega Classics Collection for the PS2 is also unique. It contains remakes of various Sega Classics, such as Golden Ace and Alien Syndrome. The Virtua Racing and Fantasy Zone games included in it are particularly awesome.
Great topic! I’ll try to think of some more.
EDIT: A few more! The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Collection for the Wii contains two games you don’t see much. Also, the Taito Legends collections for the PS2, PSP, and Xbox contain an insane number of games, and there are unique games in each version of Taito Legends 2.

Oooooohhh I love compilations. Probably the most unique one in my collection is the Dragon Slayer Chronicle for the PC. It's Japan-only, very rare, and contains emulated versions of all the classic Dragon Slayer games. So, that's Dragon Slayer, Xanadu, Xanadu Scenario II, Romancia, Legacy of the Wizard, Sorcerian, Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II, Lord Monarch, Advanced Lord Monarch, The Legend of Xanadu, and The Legend of Xanadu II. Just incredible. It comes boxed with a reprint of the original Xanadu manual, plus a bunch of great artwork.

An oddball I have is Nichibutsu Arcade Classics for the Super Famicom. It contains Moon Cresta, Crazy Climber, and Frisky Tom. Yeah, not the greatest ever, but having them on one cart is quite the thing. There's a Nichibutsu Arcade Classics 2, but it's not really a compilation -- it just contains Heiankyo Alien.

The four mainline Phantasy Star games, on the Saturn. You love to see it.

^on that note, I love the GBA Phantasy Star Collection. Mainly because most other re-releases exclude the first game.

That's one's decent, but a bit uneven. It excludes the fourth game, and the first one has that infamous save bug.
I will say, I love the "master title screen" theme on that one, where the opening three tracks of the games all run together.

Usually $120-$150.
I took some pics. There was more included than I remember.

Awesome topic.
The Vampire Dark Stalkers Collection comes to mind, released in JPN on PS2.
@prfsl, Also immediately thought of Taito Legends.
