Born in '87. We got our NES in '88. At roughly 2 to 4, I loved the NES Sesame Street games! That was before all the interactive tablet/phone games our kids have access to now. It was an early version of this, and I have great memories of these. There's a combo cart with 2 of them IIRC.
Around 3 I started migrating to the likes of Mario, Chip & Dale, TMNT II.

I'll second Chip & Dale. I remember playing that with my mom when I was much younger. It's a cute, fun game, and not terribly hard or long. Plus its got the co-op thing going for it, so you could help him with the parts he has trouble with.
