The Nice Guys was highly enjoyable, but I agree Ex Machina should be at the top of the list.

Ex Machina it is! A few podcast I listen to reference it often when discussing A.I. so it obviously made an impression on them.

Master & Commander get any votes? Seems to be a bit of a hidden gem on movie forums. It apparently was overshadowed as it came out the same year (2003) as several, big critical acclaimed movies (Chicago, LOTR Return of the King, Road to Perdition, 8th Mile - well the music, The Pianist). Those all stole the awards and it flew... sailed  ... under the radar.

Yeah stickem, I saw about 30 minutes of Nice Guys on HBO or some movie channel. I really dug it but I was very lost on the context of the scenes I saw. Decided to change the channel and watch it from start to finish.

I saw it as well and thought it was a great time, good action, bad guy and Alicia did a great job.

after seeing it I looked at Rotten Tomatoes and it seems like the movie is really getting slammed. I'm sort of confused as to why. Maybe all the critics are expecting something else entirely? I don't know. I can say that this TR movie is so much better than the Angelina Jolie ones were.

I enjoyed Spectre, but Skyfall is my favorite Bond movie in a very long time.

Most things like this (any media really) depend heavily on expectations and this movie was exactly what I expected, I had a great time with it, not sure what movie they were expecting to go to...

My son and I just finished reading (an illustrated junior classics version of) Frankenstein (because he’s six), and as a reward we watched a Frankenstein movie last night. (I had the good fortune of finding a Blu-Ray set of all the Universal Frankenstein movies at a thrift store for a few dollars along with a ton of other vintage horror films...more about that in October.)

After consulting with his sister, he settled on The Bride of Frankenstein. It remains so good, and the costumes are amazing. Still love it.

@marurun, I really dug Casino Royale & Solace but just somehow missed these.

@prfsl, what a classic. Mrs Jago actually introduced me to that one probably 10 yrs ago and she's not a horror fan at all. I look forward to watching this and Ernest Scared Stupid with my son this Halloween!

Well add unwatched movie #28 on my media HDD. Just noticed I have MI5 Rogue Nation. No idea how I forgot I had this before my physical sell off & then missed it yesterday. I almost rented it from Google Play a couple of weekends ago . My movie backlog is almost as bad as my games... 8)

I personally think Skyfall is the best of the Craig Bond films.
