PS2 fast Loading methods?

Post by benderx »

Hello PS2 owners, Using a Hard drive to sata, are the speeds better or same? I'm not into usb drive method or sending the game load through network connection, Opl. Are there any guides in racketboy to follow or youtube? I did not know PS2 uses Pata instead of SATA, been using PATA for a long time for the ps2. Any other new methods in getting games to run fast, Raspberry pi thoughts anyone?

For phat ps2 but I do have a slim lying around.

Internal HDD on a Phat PS2 is the fastest you're gonna be able to load games, as far as I know. Using a SATA HDD will not gain faster loading speed since the PS2 still only has a parallel interface for the HDD.

This thread is the best current resource for PS2 HDD loading: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 25&t=50574

I did notice the load times were better from the IDE HDD versus off the disc for many games.

Check out the video links and useful links in the thread nightrnr posted. I still need to replace all my photos in there
