Poll - How Many Physical Games are in Your Collection?

Nice... who says physical media is dead

So I was sitting around 500 in May of 2016. My gameroom/upstairs flex room now doubles as my work office so I trimmed down. I scaled back of the physical games and went with flash carts for NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis. I went with system mods/HDD/Optical Drive Emulators on hardware for PS1, PS2, & oXbox. I also now have a dedicated emu PC connected to my TV but I use the methods above on real hardware most of the time over emu.

My spreadsheet (yes, I have OCD issues ) shows I went from 477 games to 118 today, over 18 months. Then I have a handful of misc: 3 flash carts, action replay, DC boot disc. So I've let go of 75% of my game collection. I'm enjoying games more than ever and have access to more titles .

Not counting PC games, I think I have 285 physical games. I have never been a mass accumulator of games. I have always tended to stick pretty exclusively to key platforms, and collecting certain nostalgia-tinged or higher-quality titles but with a budget-minded sensibility. I mean, I have a PS1 and a PS2, but I have only a few games for each of those platforms, because I didn't have regular or reliable access to them when they were new, or interest in playing them at the time.

I have exactly 341 games. I don't anticipate drastically getting any more physical games other than a few a year. I have purchased around 8 games this year I think, and 6 of them have been physical copies. I am at the point where playing it is the most important piece, and having the social element of being able to discuss it here and there, or playing online with friends. But otherwise, we're likely moving at some point in the year and the less we have to lug around, the better.

Okay, so I just went and inventoried my dork cave. Two years ago I sold a LOT of my games off, so when you see BTBSO = Before The Big Sell Off. But I still had more than I thought.

Here's what quantities of physical games I currently own:

3DS = 81
Game Cube = 16 (Down from 74 BTBSO)
PC = 592 (Been collecting PC games since the early 90s.)
PS2 = 37 (Down from 213 BTBSO)
PS3 = 98
Vita = 97
Wii = 80 (Down from 198 BTBSO)
Xbox 360 = 253
Xbox = 83 (Down from 244 BTBSO)

Current Total = 1337 It's a sign from god!

Anything 5th gen and lower I sold / gave away years ago, as emulation suffices for me.

I'm a nut case ! I can tell you to the penny how much I've spent on games in the past 5 years, also how much I've sold net including ebay fees, Paypal fees, USPS, & shipping supplies. I might have a problem . .. and now you have me adding more layers to that spreadsheet!

In all seriousness, finding good deals and tracking my physical collection is half the fun for me!
