I didn't get any of that out of what Ian said. The way he said it, it sounded like Ian literally thought you could come to Racketboy, and put in all of your games into a collection database. Maybe he had a brainfart and meant to say RF Generation.

Nice to hear Racketboy mentioned though.

I heard it and rolled my eyes thinking the same thing, it sounded like Ian thought (or thinking of another site) RB was a backlog or collection database website.

 Mixed feelings. RB was the first name he could think of (good thing!) but he could remember full what it was for (not so good thing)

FWIW this is what my reaction to it was when I watched it last week. I watch the youtube clips and dont listen to the podcast.

And Segata, this is Pat Contri/Pat the NES Punk's podcast. If you aren't aware, he is a well known but polarizing figure in the retro gaming scene. Attends a bunch of cons.

Hm, maybe that's the case. He is a bit ADD at times so I went with he knew what the site was but got lost a bit. The only site I know of like that is RF Gen.

Either way, likely got us a few Google searches :)

Nick, I do think it's a good idea. So it's essentially a mixture of RF Gen, price charts, & our BST? I don't collect vinyl and am not familiar with the discogs.

I had not heard of Discogs either, but I am bookmarking for reference  but yeah, that would be the goal. Selling might happen later as that would take extra work to flesh out and might need more adoption before practical.

I listen to the CU podcast regularly and like it quite a bit. But I never knew that Pat was polarizing in any way - what's the deal?

He has his fair share of people who dislike him, he often receives comments about him bragging about his collection, name dropping, elitist attitude (he was collecting before it was "popular, constantly referencing the price he paid for things back in the day, etc". etc.

I think at the end of the day if you have any form of fan base, you are going to have a hater base, just comes with the territory.

I think Pat gets it a bit more than most. You have some that just generally despise the retro gaming youtube channels in general. Pat doesnt pull any punches and often calls people out. Some think he is hypocritical. He also had a falling out with many on Nintendo Age a few years back.

I just see him as a guy doing his thing and I dont really hold a negative or overly positive view on him.

I was also going to mention a lot of it come from the Nintendo Age call outs. Several guys over there got bent out of shape on him calling out some of their antics.

Also, he appeared on History Channel's Pawn Star with his Gold NWC cart with no intentions of really selling it. Some saw it as a publicity stunt. Not a big deal in my eyes knowing how staged reality TV is to begin with. Free marketing for his channel/show/podcast/brand.

Agree with JMustang, he's transparent on what or who he doesn't agree with... which some folks, including grown men, can't handle apparently. Welcome to the internet and age of entitlement.
