I want to watch some great old wrestling events - WWF and the like. Are there any "best of" compilations you can recommend? What should I be looking for when I'm browsing the used wrestling section at my local used movie store? They have hundreds of wrestling DVDs so I'd like you to recommend me what to look for. I'm 37 so anything from the 80s, 90s, and even early 2000s is fair game. I'm looking for that nostalgic wrestling viewer experience.

Links to specific dvds would be most helpful. Amazon links fine but I'm going to be hunting these used disks locally.

Unless you really want to buy physical disks, WWE Network has pretty much made DVD's obsolete. It has pretty much every event ever filmed from the major promotions (WWF. WCW, ECW) and a lot of content from minor promotions. It's essentially Netflix for wrestling. Plus it's free for a month and you can cancel before you have to pay anything!chupon wrote:I want to watch some great old wrestling events - WWF and the like. Chupon, how's this going for you? What years are you watching? Finally thinking of getting around the this. Would likely rewatch the attitude era. I missed a lot of good WWF action as I was primarily a WCW fan. I'd watch that Saturday morning WWF recap show though with JRchupon wrote:Didn't even know that was a thing! Thanks man!

Re: Recommend me best iconic wrestling movies
Since you said, "movies" in the title of this thread, that reminded me of Beyond the Mat.

This is a documentary about what motivates a man to pursue a career as a professional wrestler. This documentary was shot from 1996-1999. It features a lot of wrestlers you might recognize from the '90s and the '80s. Some of them are doing worse than others here. This is also Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's first movie appearance.
Beyond the Mat gives you a peek into the strange subculture of professional wrestling. Check it out sometime.
