Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Wireless typically will give you lag for on-line gaming. Wired should generate very little. Wireless just isn't suitable for gaming.

Mine would be 100MB with my google fiber but I don't have anything with 5ghz. My Laptop is aging and 2.4ghz. Same with my consoles. Router is in the next room. That said this what i can get under those conditions.

@Xeo, keep in mind your modem & PC NIC have to support 10/100/1000. If you're hardwired in and your PC keeps getting right around 100mbps... might be 10/100 NIC or go into your settings and set to auto negotiate. Might be set to 10/100.

Can you elaborate maybe? lol

Are my second ratings I posted in the 100mbps range bad?

I actually think it's all working perfectly as is now. 100mbps is the plan I have with Google:
https://fiber.google.com/cities/kansascity/plans/

I can confirm I've played some Tekken online again since the wired upgrade and have had zero lag now.

Ah gotcha. 100 mbps is not gigabit, 1,000 mbps is 1gbps 8). You said gigabit so I assumed you meant you were only getting 1/10th of what you pay for.

100 mbps is fine for 95% of users, if not more.

Okay yeah, I can see how I was confusing haha.

Yeah this seems totally fine especially for the price! Half what I was paying for Comcast.

Bump.

Things are a bit faster these days. Still waiting for parity on the upstream.
