Dumb luck noticing this, someone put a like new one up on ebay and I countered it. Not knowing the new value I hit watermelons piersolar.com website, and bam! It's not backordered!
Dreamcast J/U/E are up
PC DVD is up
The 'BITS' (aka: Sega Genesis) is up too
As are some copies of that overpriced strategy guide too.
They're running a 15% off sale
$47.60 for the DC and PC releases, Genesis is $39 standard no sale.
I know people have interest or did have interest in this, and the garbage pricing it goes on ebay helps no one who wants it and had to wait. Now is the chance.
I responded in the HD kickstarter topic 2 years ago about it, I do have the GoG release, but having a Dreamcast now I am very curious about it especially not only the real price but with a discount too.
I know it has a few added minigames and junk, but what did they do over the PC/Genesis release of this that makes it worthwhile to own? Also is there any way to get a copy of that guide without paying $50 for it as that's just ridiculous. I'd take a used one easy, even tried (failed) to find a scan(PDF) of the thing so whoever does own it didn't or I missed it.

I don't know anything about the PC version but IIRC, the DC port is the HD graphics/style at SD resolution. It supports the VGA cable/box. You can unlock the Genesis 16 bit graphics.

I have the Genesis version. It's pretty cool stuff.
I've seen the PC version bundled before, so if you're leery about it, you can probably pick it up really cheap there.

I've got the GoG version of it from a couple years back, probably just that at 480i/p depending on your output on the DC, so less sharp. I don't recall the PC one having the FMV clips I think I saw on youtube though nor the CD quality audio but I'd have to revisit that to be sure.
Shame you can't find/buy a PDF of the strategy guide. I really need those maps but I can't justify $50 on a book like that.

Doesn't this ROM not work in emus or flash carts? How'd they pull that off?

I've never tried it but depending how picky the code is in various genesis emulators, if it can't accept the larger ROM size I imagine it would kick back with an error.

The rip works now, at least burned to a cd. Guess it was finally cracked. Got it from isozone and works fine for me. Same with sturmwind, there's a work around you do involving the cmd line and it works great. By now there may be an image on isozone where that work is already done.Jagosaurus wrote:Doesn't this ROM not work in emus or flash carts? How'd they pull that off?

I believe the Genesis version uses a programming quirk that has not been disclosed, and Steve Snake isn't going to add that quirk in to Kega, from what I understand. I believe Beggar Prince also does something similar, as every dumped version I've used ends things right before you leave the first town.
