My school is too broke to have coffee in the teachers' lounge or in any of the workrooms. We're also not allowed to bring coffee makers of our own because the state says it's a fire hazard (I'd be more concerned about the projector bulbs, personally). I end up having to fill a Thermos with coffee from home and make it last as long as I can.

Thinking back to high school, I always had a few teachers sipping coffee. Maybe they'll okay a Keurig?

Not sure if you grew up camping at all (my experience here was in a duck blind) but if you "warm up" a thermos with boiling water (or even a microwaved cup) and seal it up for a bit, before pouring in your coffee, tea, soup, etc it will keep it hot for hous longer :)

I worked somewhere that had the same fire hazard issue.

What I ended up doing, is developing a taste for Nescafe Taster's Choice instant coffee. So I would just boil a cup of water in the microwave, and add the instant coffee, and there you go. I've tried a LOT of instant coffee, and only Taster's Choice is legit decent.

Depends, are those projector bulbs refurbished? A good bulb shouldn't give you too many troubles, but I once worked a job where they tried out refurbished bulbs, and those things were worthless pieces of junk. We eventually reverted back to the expensive bulbs because the refurbs busted so often that they weren't cost effective.

The way the fire inspector who always does our school does it is a blanket ban on any coffee makers or electric kettles.

We're lucky to get ANY bulbs, and 9 times out of 10, we have to buy them ourselves. So there's no telling.

I'll be hella early morning crew tomorrow (at least by my standards). I'm getting up at 5 am so I can get dressed, get the car packed, pick up one kid who's going on a road trip with me, drive 3 hours to drop off my dog at my mom's house and pick up another kid who's going on the road trip with me, and then drive 6 or 7 hours (depending on traffic) to Baltimore for my fourth consecutive BronyCon. I'm SUPER excited, but I'm not looking forward to all that driving.

I woke up at 6AM today, an hour before I need to get up, but couldn't fall back asleep. I decided to just get up and go to work. Now I'm gonna leave work an hour early! :P

I rolled into work at 5am today with my shirt unbuttoned 'cause no one else is there to see me at 5am. I'm the first one into work everyday.

Except today the boss's son was standing there when I walked in the door. Just about scared the bejeesus out of me. Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot I was supposed to train the boss's son how to run the morning shift.

Oh boy.

This kid doesn't know a darn thing about working in the radio industry, which perplexes me because his father has worked in radio since before I was born. How has junior learned nothing?

Oh well, let the training commence. I suppose they're going to try to replace me with this kid if I don't cross my t's and dot my i's. Maybe I shouldn't train him too well.

Thursday begins my return to the crew. Gotta be at the school by 7:30 to go over as a group to the superintendent's faculty opening convocation (why the fuck are we even doing this? and why do we have to go as a group?). I'd rather just wait until the first mandatory workday on Friday, but noooo, even though it's technically an optional workday, we all have to be at that stupid convocation.
