Yeah, just a publisher... they just mostly published terrible games.

And yes, I really did enjoy A Nightmare on Elm Street a lot. I'll be picking up a cart of it if I see it for sure. I'd always dismissed it, too. Not so much for the LJN thing (they did have a few titles worth playing), but because I just assumed that the license would produce something on the level of Friday the 13th; furthermore, screenshots don't really make the game look terribly impressive, but darn if it isn't a joy to control.

Sure, they had plenty of bad games. They also had more than one good game. None of them are outright masterpieces, but they're better than LJN's reputation would lead you to believe.

That something we all need to remember. We may see people say "it was MADE by LJN, they make terrible games" but 99% of the time that wasn't the case. Many of their NES and even their SNES output was done by other well-known companies. For example Jaws was developed by Westone (of Wonder Boy fame), Friday The 13th and Karate Kid were made by Atlus, Nightmare on Elm Street by Rare, etc.

335 licensed. I got 8 more in yesterday from smurdd and haven't had a chance to clean them up and add them to the spreadsheet yet. As noted above, closing in on the halfway point for licensed. Considering I started just over a year ago at a quarter, I'd call that successful. Of course, prices are creeping up and I'm knocking off cheaper games mostly right now, soooo it'll be slowing a bit.

I really need my "local" used game store (it's about a 40 minute drive, but it's the only one worth going to) to have their B2G1 sale again already... Of course I go there so infrequently that I might never know, they're bad with facebook :(

Got in a 4pack from strangenova that puts me to 339 licensed, or over halfway whether I include Stadium Events or not. 42 unlicensed, which is almost halfway there for ones I'm planning on getting too. Not a bad run for 15 months since I started this quest.

Couple more decent sized pickups. A friend from college visited, her boyfriend happened to be selling off his games, got a bunch from him. Got a bunch from mjmjmjmjrjmjrmj. Got a bunch from beatnix. Picked up a small stack while searching for my secret santa stuff.

Have now crossed 400 licensed. 405 to be exact. 46 of the unlicensed ones I'm going for too (picked up a couple more Tengen and Wisdom Tree games -- getting close on finishing both of those out). So over 450 total. Progress is being made.
