I find I'm recalling as a kid more and more seeing stuff I had a good share of Gobots too. So because of that I keep an eye out for those Gobot/Custom Robo DX characters too.
Today I scored the super gobot bug bite (yellow vw bug) which was in borderline perfect shape and even had the often missing clip on windshield chrome dual blaster for $6 and for another $1 I got the cop car gobot that's part of one of the 6in1 combiners called Puzzler. I have a set of gobots now on the top shelf next to the transformers. The basics I won't say suck, but they're as minimalist as the mini-con/bots of the G1 Transformers, but the Super Gobots (and I have 2, the other is a german panzer tank) are very well finely detailed I'd think even more in the metal molding than a good many transformers.

I had several of these toys worth a good bit today lol, from around 1990 to 1995. I loved the animated series. I would watch it on my uncles satellite TV setup. One of those giant satellites that took up half the yard 
I have a one year old kiddo & I started recording the 2015 series today, Transformers Robots in Disguise. We've only watched one episode together but he seemed to enjoy it. I noticed they're mixing in Dinobots & Beast Wars characters. Overall, I think it'll be fun to get back into it & assuming he continues to like it, buying new toys for him... & me

I've heard of that, but I limit the cartoons to the stuff my little girl will watch and thankfully she was never into goo goo baby stuff mostly. These days it's the disney jr stuff which is pretty high quality especially the most recent Sofia, Lion King, Miles, and the others along with a few things on Nick like the remade Chipmunks and what little girl wouldn't watch My Little Pony.
She does seem to like Disney and Miyazaki cartoons so there's some value there too. I may see if she can get into Transformers the Movie which I found late week for just $10 which surprised me as it's long out of print.
