I rarely bid on anything, I impulsively click on some buy it nows when I see a review of a game or read about a must have for some platform. Sometimes I also do some drunk buys, which I normaly regret the next day.

On eBay I'm usually looking for anything Sega, but it's a happy accident that I refuse to buy anything that's not CIB. It indirectly prevents me from impulse buys, and usually CIB stuff on eBay isn't very reasonable because people value the manual as much as the damn game anymore.

I totally agree. Plus I'm in Canada so the exchange and the shipping kills me.

I also buy Sega CIB only, except if it's ridiculously cheap.

I loath eBay aside from Buy it Now deals and selling my own stuff. Amazon and Best Buy demolish the majority of my spending money each month though :P.

I use Buy It Now for 99% of my eBay purchases, but sometimes I find something with a cheap starting bid and throw a bid up there just for the lulz. Ended up buying Blade Force for 3DO for $4 that way a month or so ago. I never bid more than $10, though, since I'm mostly doing it for fun with no expectation to win an auction.

Honestly, 100 bucks a months isn't awful, but it's a bit much. Might sell some more stuff if I'm gonna keep buyin' like I have been.
Don't feel bad; I routinely spend 100 bucks a week.
You have a job though. You have the luxury of getting a paycheck to restore your funds, where I only have a meager allowance every month, most of which I'm supposed to save.

Not trying to sound harsh brotha, but you're 20 & have an allowance that allows for $1200+ a year in video games?

No, which is why I gotta quit buying so much XP

Also, it's more like a self allowence than anything. I don't like letting myself dip into my savings/spending money for things I don't neeeeed (like foods).

My mom still gave me an allowance until I graduated college, and that was $50 every two weeks (so $1300 per year).

I never got an allowance. Most of my money I either got from birthdays, or had to earn. Couldn't make much, though, since my cousins had cornered the lawn-mowing market. I made a decent amount watching the neighbor's kids, though... the same ones that wanted to see me beat SMB3 all the time. ;) (To go with that, I can't even count the number of times they watched T2: Judgment Day. A great movie, to be sure, but I hated that for a while, too!)

Once I hit college, my disposable income came from scholarships. Then teaching and research assistantships.
