Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Last Shift

You know? This movie wasn't half bad. The story is pretty simple is about a rookie cop who has to guard the last shift on the old police department because there's some evidence left in there and they still need to take it out in the morning. Now she stays alone in there the whole night while she slowly starts hearing noises, seeing wierd thing and after a while it goes insane with gostly aparitions and some creepy images. There's some parts i would like it done in a diferent way to give a better reaction but still its well done. I really enjoy the movies with slow build up and the twist at the end is not original but still give it a nice climax to the film. Recomended.

Definitely Devils Rejects over 1000 Corpses IMO.
---

Need to add Saw 3 & Scream 2 to my list for the month (on my phone now).

Saw 3 was much better than I remembered. I made the statement that the series drops off after Saw 2. I'll retract that statement & acknowledge the original trilogy is fairly solid overall. The acting is better in 3. The overall premise in 2 is more interesting & reminded me of Cube.

Scream 2 is okay. A young Timothy Olyphant is in this one. The best part is when you're show clips from Stab which is a slasher movie within the movie (Macbeth?) poking fun of the movie itself. Good stuff. I love how the Scream series does "self aware" well. My Scream series order goes:
1 > 4 > 2 > 3

Not a big Saw fan but I remember liking 1 and 4 I think.

Hey so I have a bootleg of a movie called Final Stab but the bootleg was released as Scream 4 before that was a real movie. Wicked meta!

I feel like the Scream movies go 1 > 4 > 3 = 2

2 and 3 are both good and bad. I like them about the same but for different reasons.

@noise, I really enjoyed seeing Saw 1-4 in the theaters. I remember not liking 5 much so I never watched 6 or 7. After re-watching 1-3, I want to marathon the rest. IIRC, 1-3 are a trilogy of sorts, same with 4-6, then 7 ties a lot together (from what I read upon release).

Scream 3 is ok. It just feels weak. I liked seeing clips of Stab but being on the Stab set didn't play out well IMO. Jay & Silent Bob cameo is random.

@gamerforlife, I feel like this would be receiving much more hype if it was HBO. Does Starz have an on demand only option like HBO? Let us know how it is! I don't pay for movie channels. Might pick up the DVDs next yr.

I watched the first Saw in theater tripping on mushrooms. It was pretty insane, to say the least. The twist at the end was brain melting.

Yeah, the theater I was in let out a collective gasp at that twist ending. Saw was phenomenal, but I never felt any desire to track down the rest of the series.

the original felt really unique at the time. The sequels get so same-y to me. I liked the sub-plot stuff w/ Shawnee Smith's character though. That was 4 right? Or 5? Or 3? They all just blend together for me.

As someone who watched them up to... 4 or 5 i think, stay with the first one.

Hey, check this out:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ba ... -wasteland

It's a Kickstarter for Celluloid Wizards in the Video Wasteland, a documentary about Charles Band's Empire Pictures by Daniel Griffith, who has previously done documentary work on the movie Dark Star, MST3K, and American International Pictures, as well as much, much more.

For those of you wondering, "Why should I care about Empire Pictures," well...just look at their catalog...

Re-Animator
From Beyond
Zone Troopers
Prison
Dolls
Necropolis
Creepozoids
Cellar Dwellar
Trancers
The Dungeonmaster
Eliminators
Robot Jox
...and many more!

Apparently Griffith also wants to explore Charles Band's earlier films, like Laserblast, Tourist Trap, and Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn, along with Wizard Video and Wizard Games.
