Re: Should I get a new SNES?(ac concern)
My oldest SNES has that entire center plastic pin missing. It's been like that for YEARS and it's always worked fine. I'm mainly worried about a fire or electrical incident breaking out. The odds of an electrical fire with 8.5 watts of potential power is beyond low. The biggest worry would be short...

Re: Refurbished 360's ........stay away from them or there o
If the console has been reballed (lead solder) it should be able to last 10+ years no problem. The issue with the xbox360s is the fact that they use a non lead tin base solder. This has a much lower melting point then lead. With that it heats up and slowly pools over time with that there heat stress...

Re: Re-tin N64 cartridge edge contacts?
Re-tin will work, just make sure you have a good lead base solder. Also make sure that you have a temperature adjustable iron. I've done this with a few games for various systems in the past and had no issues of chipping or the solder coming off. If you use a newer lead free solder it will cause iss...

Re: turbo grafx 16 help
I'd avoid the use of the RF if the signal is bad (I'm assuming its oxidisation on the ground connection.) The good thing about the TG16 is the back expantion port has pins that will output component and RGB. There's tons of pin outs online you just need to connect the pins to a Component video and a...

Re: Best way to store games?
The best way i've found over the past 12 or so years is to buy wire mesh shelving. This is abit more costly then just buying book shelves or what ever but it have that video game store feel. Another good thing is it use peg board so if you make to big of a section you can find all shorts of ideas to...

Re: Saturn mod chip problems!
Does the Saturn boot retail disc just fine, or is there a problem with them too? The "unsuitable" message means that the game's region code doesn't match the system's region code. You can check a disc with a program called Saturn Region Patcher to see what region it is. Double check the m...

Re: Saturn mod chip problems!
The laser for the saturn is more then likely starting to die, There is a few fixes for this. A little background first CD lasers use a BJT (bipolar junction transistor) there is a perimeter known as beta DC. This is ratio of the collector current to the base thus setting the gain. This number on a d...
