PSP AV Cable Help!

Post by oxymoron »

I recently purchased a AV cable for my PSP. It works just fine for my 3000 but when I used it on my 2000 all you could hear is the sound and no picture. I have tried Sony's troubleshooting too. Help please!!

is it an official cable? There are some third party cables out there too.

Also, is it component or composite? there are some slight differences obviously.

Check your tv too.

It's a 3rd party composite cable. The tv's isn't the problem because the other PSP works just fine.

maybe the third party one is only meant for the 3000 model?

Ah, I didn't think of that! I'm going to go re-check the listing.

Edit: Nope, that's not the case. In fact it constantly says that it's compatible for the PSP 2000 in the description more than it does for the 3000. :P

the psp2000 only will display progressive out Thus no composite for games etc. while the psp3000 displays interlace out so will output composite. Hope this helps you need a component cable to get video out on a 2000 (for games) the front screen will work fine as well as videos/ web browser.

PSP-2000 doesn't support composite output for games, but it will work with video and music.
