So I bought a turbo grafx 16 , and the audio/video out port is really bad I mean I have to twist the cable like 20 times to get any picture, I tried using a sega genesis one, and it didn't fix the problem some Im guessing that its the port you put the cable into and not the cable itself, and thoughts?
-also feels loose, you can pull it out almost instantly
Also The controller directional pad stinks on it and it doesn't work well going right or left, for tubo grafx 16 controllers should I just pay $20 for a new one or take this one apart and try to get the contacts to work(I have a high chance of just breaking the controller.)
It loads games fine, I just cant play them(well) with these issues, thanks.

Re: turbo grafx 16 help
Open up the pad and clean it. If the RF port is loose, then it's loose.

Re: turbo grafx 16 help
ive never seen a Turbo Grafx motherboard before but you may be able to reflow the solder on the connector that is for the Video out port.
or you could solder wires to traces and bypass the connector altogether..........
as for the controller i once spilt Vodka and Coke on my PS2 controller and the next day it was sticky , i opened it up and used Isopropyl Alcohol on the rubber .......
it took a few times of cleaning/reassembling/testing but now it works like new.
also you may want to clean the PCB with a pencil rubber and Isopropyl Alcohol too.

Re: turbo grafx 16 help
my bad i think i get your problem now with the RF connector , im thinking soldering wires to the board is your best solution
Re: turbo grafx 16 help
I'd avoid the use of the RF if the signal is bad (I'm assuming its oxidisation on the ground connection.)
The good thing about the TG16 is the back expantion port has pins that will output component and RGB. There's tons of pin outs online you just need to connect the pins to a Component video and audio cable.
