I don’t understand how Gradius V and Psyvariar 2 can be considered “retro” when they came out in 2004 and 2005 as new games. Other shmup games like Hudson Selection Vol. 2: Star Soldier are clearly retro. Or are you just putting anything shmuppy as Retro?
My definition of Retro is basically anything that has a classic style of gameplay. So if a game is 2D in nature and has a classic style, I consider it Retro. So yes, anything that is a normal shmup I will put on this list.
Is there any software that will allow me to play import games such as the Taito collection on my PS2 without having to mod it? I have a boot disc for my gamecube that lets me do so and it is spectacular.
@tonythekitty you can use a FreeMCBoot memory card that will allow you to run Open PS2 Loader to play PS2 isos (either from a USB stick, internal HDD connected to network adapter, or over LAN from a Windows file share) from any region. No mod required.
