Super Mario Bros. Pinball Machine – Droolworthy Game Room Addition
It seems like the trend in retro game collecting is having full arcade cabinets. However, if you think about it, there is something a bit more charming about a good ol’ pinball machine.
Not only do pinball machines seem a little less common, but they seem to age incredibly well in comparison to most arcade games. Pinball machines are not limited by graphical technologies or evolving gameplay tastes. Their only limitation is they wear and tear on the hardware.
As much as I love pinball, there aren’t a lot of pinball themes that I haven’t been much of fan of. However, I came across an official Super Mario Bros. pinball machine on Flickr. In addition to solid pinball fun, you could have a unique piece of old-school gaming equipment that is decked out in retro Nintendo goodness. Any non-Nintendo-hater would be proud to show off this piece of art.
On a side note, I’d love to hear about your favorite pinball games. Have you seen any other themed pinball games that make connections with retro video games? Which pinball games did you grow up with? You can share your comments below or in this forum thread.
