the best part is that she must have thought at one point that a Nintendo was "a substitute for reading a book or doing an outdoor activity with your child."
No, the best part is that as a teacher I deal with these types of parents on a weekly basis.

Blame is not a substitute for being uninformed. There's a bigger issue here than the Nintendo. She needs to find out why her kid had the panic attack, because several other things could set it off.

That was a rather confusing article...
"My son is lactose intolerant, but my daughter drinks milk all day long. I'm never buying milk again. I couldn't dream of suggesting milk as a beverage to any parent though their child isn't lactose intolerant. Milk is not a replacement to jumping rope or eating pie."
HUH!?

I have given up trying to help these people. At this point I just enjoy these occurrences with silent laughter. I do hope the kid is okay though...

well if that kid had paper mario, it could have been a substitute for reading a book

This just in. We are now getting reports that sitting down is not a substitue for moving around. More at 11.

News flash! Limit the amount of time your kid spends in front of the TV and encourage them to, I dunno, read books and be active. If they don't want to do it they aren't going to, but at least you can try to find some alternatives for them.
