For a couple of weeks ago I got me a Sony Trinitron WEGA KV-29SE10E.
Before that I had a Bang & Olufsen Beovision MX 7000. The reason I wanted
another CRT was that I needed to change the geometry of the TV and that
wasn't possible on the MX 7000 because I had the model 2.0 and the service
mode isn't available.
I still have it left but I'm far away from being a technican and have no idea how
to build a jumper mod.
Anyway, the Sony Trinitron, had a lof of weird geometry settings that would
top down scrolling games looks like shit! When it scrolls the picture is extremely
wavy and it's almost like if there are distorsion on the sides of the screen..
I have looked in the online manual and for "default" settings but the screen is still
wavy and makes the game unplayable.. This is very weird!
This is the settings from the manual:
HPOS (Horizontal Shift) 31
HPAR (Horizontal Parallelogram) 31
HBOW (Horizontal Bow) 31
VLIN (Vertical Linearity) 31
VSCR (Vertical Scroll) 31
HSIZ (EW Width) 31
EWPW (EW Parabola/Width) 31
UCOP (EW Upper Corner Parabola) 17
LCOP (EW Lower Corner Parabola) 17
EWTZ (EW Trapezium) 31
VSLP (Vertical Slope) 31
VSIZ (Vertical Amplitude) 15
SCOR (S-correction) 14
VPOS (Vertical Shift) 31
If you want to see some pictures I can attach that!
This is how the picture looks when I adjusted a bit.
It looks OK as far as the picture is still but as soon
the game scrolls (vertically or horizontally) it looks
awful and wavy:
One more thing, I live in Sweden but have mostly all of my retro consoles
in NTSC. I think it's much better in NTSC than PAL.
I really need help with this because if I'm not getting this TV to work
I have to throw it away and look for yet another TV.
I appreciate all kind of help!
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Niklas
