I'll start by listing my opinions of the PixelJunk games I've played.
Racers - I'll be honest, this one kinda pissed me off. It's a competently made game and it can be fun, but I can't get used to the controls and the cars are just too tiny. In the latter half of the game, things speed up considerably and the screen is littered with tiny cars. It got to be a bit much. I was able to clear the last tier only because I got lucky.
Sidescroller - This was the first PixelJunk game that I played. Of course, I was interested in it because it was a hori shmup. Sidescroller plays a bit differently than other shmups. It's very compartmentalized with each stage having its own score. I also appreciated how you start from scratch at the beginning of each stage. It helped me with my fear of "Gradius-syndrome".
Shooter - This game was an absolute blast. I loved shooting the monsters, saving the survivors, digging through rock, and looking for diamonds. The levels are lengthy, the boss fights are engaging, and the powers added later keep the game from losing steam near the end. I can't really think of anything really wrong with this game and plan on getting the sequel.
Eden - I'm in the middle of the game with 25/50 Spectra but so far I'm really liking it. Swinging around, collecting pollen, jumping from branch to branch - fun stuff. The levels are ginormous and can take a considerable amount of time to fully complete. Because of this, I've dumped more than a few hours into only half of the game. If Eden can keep its momentum, this'll be a real gem.
What do you guys think of these games? If you've played the games I haven't gotten to, tell me how they are. Is anyone here on the PixelJunk fence?
