Why not get it on a normal english system? I dont thnk reading is required though. Havent played it in ages though, and that was on a emulator.

Re: question about super metroid
This game has virtually zero dialogue when playing it, also the english version has a japanese text option.

Re: question about super metroid
Even when you download the rom is doesn't specify versions, I am pretty sure there is only one version of the game, no matter the region. The only thing I could see being in japanese would be the sector names on the map, but I have a feeling they are probably still in english for the japanese release.
Re: question about super metroid
Either way the brief intro is pretty much all the dialogue/text you see in the entire game, so yeah. Not really necessary. As usual I'm sure the in-game text is probably English, or as others are saying there might just be one version of the game available everywhere.

The Japanese version has the English text option...

Re: question about super metroid
As has been stated, the Japanese and English versions are identical. Just change it to English in the options.
Also the game doesn't tell you where to go like the later Metroid games. It's all up to your own intuition which is part of the magic (and a testament to its design).

Re: question about super metroid
Absolutely. Do not play this game with a guide, it totally ruins it imo. I think Super Metroid is a nice balance, as you still feel completely lost, but you aren't drawing your own map like in the first game (which is fun in its own kind of weird way)Gunstar Green wrote:

I like how Metroid Prime (and I think 2 and 3 as well) gave you the option to simply turn off the hint system.Gunstar Green wrote:As has been stated, the Japanese and English versions are identical. Just change it to English in the options.

I like how the Prime trilogy was made by Gods.
