Re: Games Acquired 2013
I really don't remember what I posted about last. I recently got;
Romance of the Three Kingdoms (SNES)
Shinobi (3DS)
Super Turrican with the manual (SNES)
Super Turrican is in... really good condition, even the manual is pretty much mint. The game doesn't even have a scratch, or even mild discoloration on it. It honestly looks like it was never played. This always worries me. I feel like it's fake, but why fake the original when you can fake the sequel and make ten times the amount?

-Action Replay
-F-Zero GX
-Skies of Arcadia (I'd be fine with a Dreamcast copy, though)
-Soul Calibur II
-Tales of Symphonia
-WWE: Day of Reckoning 2

Re: Games Acquired 2013
Local Houston store had buy 3, get 1 free. I dug deep & found 4 titles I've been hunting. Continue building up my PS2 titles while they're cheap & always hunting RPGs:
- Baroque (Atlus RPG) CIB
- Metal Saga (Atlus RPG) no manual
- The Bouncer (Square Soft beat em up w RPG elements) CIB
- Ghostbusters (Huge fan, haven't played any version of this yet) CIB
Paid $21 for all 4. @ $5.25 each it's not garage sale but it's below retail considering the condition. Plus all these will get considerable play time.
Just now realizing Baroque is a remake of the JPN SS rogue RPG by the same title. Nice!

Re: Games Acquired 2013
I live in a large city; so thankfully, there are a lot of places where I can find games locally. If you haven't tried them already, however, you might want to check out some local pawn shops. A lot of them have "one price" for all of their games (i.e., all PS2 games are $3, all Wii games are $8, etc.), and while most of the games will be over-priced, some of them will be bargains. You might also want to try "junky" antique malls (i.e., the ones that are basically indoor flea markets). I have had some luck finding vintage games at those recently.Snatch1414 wrote:Is there a secret meeting place I'm not aware of for finding games this time of year? Cuz yard sales/flea markets are virtually dry by now around here. I've got 2-3 thrift stores that provide minimal yield, that's it.
Thankfully, I came to peace with the fact that I will never play through all of the games in my collection, and I enjoy hunting and collecting games as much (if not more) than playing them. (This also explains why I have almost no "digital" games.)Frag Mortuus wrote:Good God, Some people on here acquire more games in a month than I do in a whole year. Wow. I have a console backlog about 30 deep and feel crazy buying more. Especially with PS+ dumping free games on me each month. Plus a PS4 coming in a couple weeks, and with my wife buying me a 3DSXL for Christmas. Not to mention my Steam backlog of 200+, I will never catch up.
I live in a relatively small craftsman bungalow which - along with my wife - does not permit me to display my collection. Accordingly, I keep a large part of my collection in boxes, closets, containers, etc. (I keep my SNES and GBA collections in old wooden wine boxes...) Everything is easily accessible, but none of it is on display. When we relocate to a larger house, however, I will insist upon a personal space where I can display my collection. (I also intend to photgraph my collection for the forums at some point, but I just have not found the time to do it yet...)Frag Mortuus wrote:I insist more people start posting in the Game Room / Home Theater thread. I need to see these collections. Do you guys with gigantic collections display them nicely or just have piles and boxes of games?
I love the 5200 games! They look great!BoneSnapDeez wrote:Got some decent stuff today.

I love how thick and chunky and heavy Atari 5200 carts are. They're vastly superior to 2600 and 7800 carts.
@Jagosaurus
I've been meaning to check out Metal Saga for some time. It's actually part 3 of the Metal Max series, and the only one to be released in the US. And since it was a commercial flop I doubt we'll see another Metal Max game in the States. I've played the Super Famicom installments, which were pretty cool.
