Phantasy Star IV
Just got Rika. About to investigate a meteorite.
I'd like to play Phantasy Star Gaiden when I'm done with IV, but damn is it hard to find.

Re: RPG Progress Report
FINALLY defeated Smough and Orenstein in Dark Souls after a ton of attempts. After that I made a quick run through catacombs and knocked off the boss. Probably will head over to either painted world or New londo next.

Re: RPG Progress Report
So, I finished up FFV at last.
There was only one problem point after Omniscient before the final boss, and that was TwinTania, normally a really easy fight. I couldn't do enough damage to kill him before he used Giga Flare, nor could I use an instant death move on him for an easy win whilst it charged. So instead I equipped by berserker with a coral ring (she could just survive Giga Flare, and his other common move, Tidal Wave, would heal her back up then), whilst everyone else equipped Jump as their secondary ability and used it endlessly to try and avoid his attacks. I finished the battle with full health
For the final boss, I took 2 attempts. The first ended with an unlucky Almaghest (wiping out my two more fragile party members) followed by a Grand Cross, killing my berserker and petrifying my dragoon.
2nd time round I killed the Almaghest segment as quickly as possible (using the magic lamp, Mug with the chicken knife, Jump with Holy Spear and some lucky berserker hits). The I used Odin through the magic lamp to insta kill the back segment, leaving just two parts to deal with. After that it was fairly easy, I just tried to whittle both segments down at once as the final segment uses more powerful attacks when alone. I killed the front, the last segment used another grand cross, and I took it out before it could attack again.
Four Job Fiesta beaten, final party:
Level 39 Thief (Steal/Mug) with Chicken Knife, Mirage Vest, Hermes Sandals
Level 41 Berserker (Artful Dodger) with Twin Axe, Aegis Shield Crystal Armour, Hermes Sandals
Level 41 Geomancer (Gaia/Artful Dodger) with Air Knife, White Robe, Hermes Sandals
Level 41 Dragoon (Jump/Artful Dodger) with Holy Lance, Aegis Shield, Genji Armour, Hermes Sandals
If I do it next year, I can feel comfortable in the knowledge that it's hard to get a much worse team than this one

After about a month of slacking off from Breath of Fire, I now have the Light & Dark keys, and I'm in Prima with Gobi.

Phantasy Star IV
Just entered Garuberk Tower. The boss at the end of the Air Castle was hard as hell! Had to do some grinding before I took him down successfully.
I really like PSIV but I'm feeling kind of burned out on RPGs. I went straight from Shining Force II to Phantasy Star II to Phantasy Star IV without any other games in between.
