I just don't have all my stuff hooked to one TV. :)

Seriously, though, I often just have my older systems stashed, and pull them out when I feel like playing them. Right now, though, it's a complete madhouse at the CRT, with my NES, SNES, Genesis/SCD, and PS2 all hooked up. I should probably just stash the PS2 again, as it's not getting playtime at that TV... and I suspect my Genesis gaming's about to increase dramatically what with the Mega Everdrive I'm supposed to be getting Thursday. :)

Anyway, I've got my Saturn, GC, XBOX, and DC (and prior to that, also the 3DO, which needs its audio fixed) hooked to my computer monitor through a cheap TV Box 1440, and the recent-ish systems are hooked to my HDTV. It's... well, it is a lot. If you're space-constrained, I can see where you'd want to slim it all down. I'm not against emulating at all for pure convenience.

Xbox Fitness also included numerous branded training programs that cost real money up front, from $60/£40 P90X routines to Jillian Michaels videos that could run $12 each. That paid content is no longer available for purchase as of yesterday. Those who purchased it previously will be able to use it for just over one more year before the app becomes completely unavailable for download OR USE on July 1, 2017.

"My worst fears about buying into digital or cloud-dependent content are realized," user chH4MMER added. "Basically the message is: if you buy something on the cloud, plan on having it taken away from you before you’re done with it, and don’t expect a refund."

The shutdown of Xbox Fitness is a bit more severe, though, effectively blocking single-player content that was purchased up front (rather than on a subscription basis) just because it happens to be streamed from a remote server. As always, when it comes to buying content that lives in a form you can't physically hold in your hands (or download in a form you have full control over), the buyer should beware.
This has been done so many times already on other games, digital books, movies and music releases yet most consumers either do not know and many just ignore this important fact.

There are many games on current consoles and Steam that require random online authentication even if the game is fully downloaded for offline play! The online control can disable/remove the game at anytime!

Yup people just don't think at all, I get the not reading some shitty EULA as 99% will just skim and click and with all the lawyerese I can't blame them. It's not hard to put 1+1 together when you have your crap tied to a company, loaded on a server, and you have to use some software or specific OS to run it, it's a ticking time bomb if you don't have a 'real' version in hand you made or got when it was bought. I wish more people would realize they have no control.

I get not caring when it's free, $1, $5, even $10 -- but when you get into these $30-60 downloads they lie and put a 'BUY' button on. You're not buying shit, you're a lease holder, a renter. You can only squat as long as the company you rent from wants you as a tenant, and when they're done with your ass, you get evicted.

xbox fitness.. i wouldve used the hell out of it if i actually have a one. i used alot of fitness games in the 360 before in an almost daily basis.

regarding being digital.. the only thing i really hate about it is that, i cannot resell a game. im not too concerned about the preservation aspect of it. especially when against discs. discs die too. and more delicate considering they can get easily scratched. if the medium is a cartridge though, thats a different story.

I was half joking a bit there. It totally sucks they're losing that content. Just kind of funny Xbox Fitness is a thing... that whole "entertainment" brand they attempted this gen was a colossal failure.

As I mentioned, I just tucked away my "50ish least watched" DVDs.

Thinking of just ripping my entire DVD collection to a HDD.

What programs have you guys used? To be 100% honest, all my digital movie files I've acquired through friends. I've never converted my DVDs or DLED the files myself.

Just watched an MP4 of Dredd on a cheap 4GB USB 2.O plugged into my $70 LG BR player. Looked awesome.

Would love to to convert & sell 100+ DVDs... rather than re-buying them via current digital services.

The hard drive is convenient for watching the movies, but maybe you should keep the DVDs just in case the hard drive crashes? You would not make much selling the DVDs unless rare, but then best to keep the hard to replace titles.

The main reason why I like the disc over Digital or NetFlix is all the extra footage, Criterion pressings in particular with all the extra footage and supplemental booklets in the case. These will be lost when converting the movie off the disc to digital; all the separate audio tracks (foreign language options, commentary tracks, Audio 5.1 Surround, Prologic, etc), Special Features and extra footage with the DVD root menu to select all the options.
