We should be better than this. The reseller may be a dick, but being a dick right back serves no purpose. Are we not supposed to learn "Two wrongs don't make a right" in kindergarten?
This is just wrong. I'm asking politely that you please stop this and that a moderator or admin delete this thread. This is not how our community should present itself to the public, and it's unbecoming of such a long-standing community.

That's the entire basis of the criminal justice system.

The guy's clearly an asshole, out to rob people of their money after their child's death.
Anyone who's talking about witchhunts is way overreacting. Jmustang didn't ask for a call to arms. He didn't ask for everyone to troll him. He didn't talk about shaming him on Twitter or causing him financial hardship. There's no violence in the post. Hell, maybe even a good lesson can come from this. "Next time, buddy, don't try to screw anyone over."
Ignoring it means you give your blessing for this anti-social and sociopathic behavior to continue.
I mean I get not liking this, but I get where he's coming from. Sure he lied to the reseller, but he doesn't know that, and that's how that guy wants to conduct business. People who act like that to get goods deserve what is coming to them and that's any form of good, it just happens to be games here. I'd be inclined to say kill the thread if the guy wasn't trying to take advantage of parent of a recently cooled corpse. I have a problem with that.
Why should the reseller give two shits about the supposed dead kid? This is the same offer he'd give no matter what the story behind why the games were being sold. If you tell a painter that you're repainting your dead kid's room does that make the painter an asshole for not offering a discount?

A painter would have set rates, circumstance of why something would be being painted isn't relevant. In the case of old games, he can see enough in the supplied images to know there's a lot of value there and to offer $1000 is just predatory. Games don't have set values, the fluctuate some, but there is a general value they fall into and to offer upwards of a $1000 when you can already add up well into that total from the images alone, it's taking advantage of someone in a disjointed grieving state of mind who likely won't bother to look they're getting fleeced. A painter unless they're crooked would at least float a general estimate that wouldn't vary much from other like companies, they wouldn't think I could do a 50% markup as they're desperate and sad wanting the job done fast. I know you won't agree but that's the way I see it and I know I'm not alone on that.

Still reading through this if someone had pointed it out.
Thats a pic of my wife and kid lol. She sent me a facebook message, so that is her message bubble that pops on my screen. So it got in on the screenshots I was taking. They are my same shelves seen in the pics.
